Gantt chart problem after upgrade to R 2.4.0
I am having a problem with a gantt chart since
moving to R2.4.0. from 2.3.1
I made some adaptations to the code from
http://addictedtor.free.fr/graphiques/RGraphGallery.php?graph=74
and successful produced a simple gantt chart. However
when I upgraded to 2.4.0 it no longer works as
desired. See
http://ca.geocities.com/jrkrideau/R/gantproblem.pdf
for the two charts. The charts were produced

difference between date and times
Hi,
I have date and time in a format like this: " 2007-02-21 05:19:00".
Do you which function i can use to derterminate the difference in time between this value and an other one.
For exemple:
this one : 2007-02-21 05:19:00
and this one : 2007-02-20 14:21:53
Thanks a lot,

to convert a character string in time
hi,
I have my data time expressed in character string exple "5:20" (hour:min) and i want to convert these in times recognized by R. I have tried the POSIXct function:
balise07$Hour <- as.POSXIct(balise07$Hour)
but it didn't work.
Do you know why? Do you know how i can convert my string character in a real time?
Thanks

2 dimensional interpolation from matlab to R
Hi everybody.
i have 2 datasets : one with a long grid a lat grid and a bathymetry grid
the second one only has the long and lat coordinates.
So i want to know the bathymetry associated to the second dataset. I thought it was a good idea to do an interpolation between the two datasets. I find a script doing that on matlab but i want to do it on R. Do you how to do it?

nls problem with iterations
Hi,
I am using the nls function and it stops because the number of
iterations exceeded 50, but i used the nls.control argument to allow for
500 iterations. Do you have any idea why it's not working?
fm1 <- nls(npe ~ SSgompertz(npo, Asym, b2, b3),
data=f,control=nls.control(maxiter=500))
Thanks for your help,
Cheers,
Karine.

kriging problem - very urgent
Hi everybody,
I have a longitude vector and a latitude one. Associated to these coordinates, i have a matrix with some data at some coordinates but not all.
Lon <- seq(136.025,144.975,0.05)
Lat <- rev(seq(-66.975,-65.525,0.05))
dim(z) <- c(Lon,Lat)
And i have tried to apply to these data a kriging function. But first i need to reshape these 3 variables to have a dataframe

cluster analysis :: urgent
hi,
how can i do cluster analysis on spatial data? (longitude & latitude)
Because i used the function clust of the clustTool package and it did'nt work at all:

axis in r plot
I have a graph plotted in r.The x axis tickmarks are at 0,5,10. I need a
graph with resolution of tickmarks at 0.1 interval. When i place tickmarks of
0.1 intervals using the following command axis(1, at=seq(0,5,0.1),
cex.axis=0.7, las=2) I only get the tickmarks of 0.1 interval that are very
closed placed in the graph.I need to increase the spacing between each
tickmark. Please anyone help out

xyplot/levelplot: thickness of tickmarks
Hi,
if I use the xyplot (or levelplot) function (lattice library) with
the option axs="i", I have the problem that the tickmarks lie a bit
outside the "plot-box". Consider for example:
library(lattice)
x<-seq(0,1,by=0.01)
y<-seq(0,1,by=0.01)
xyplot(y~x,type="l",xlim=c(0,1),ylim=c(0,1),scales=list

surpressing tickmarks / labels x-as for two sets of boxplot (plotted as stacked boxplots)
Hello,
I am trying to plot two sets of boxplots together. These are estimates of two
experiments and?seven?factors.
The results of the two experiments I want to plot as boxplots stacked to each
other.
Therefore I plot first the results of the first experiment; and next with the
add option the second set of boxplots.
The boxplots are plotted at 'at = 1:7 - 0.15 for the first experiment and

Can't Get Lattice Histogram Minor Tick Marks to Work
Thanks Jeff,
I attached a file with the program to my earlier email because the posting guide seemed to imply that non-binary attachments would work. But I see that the file was stripped off.
I installed the program file on a web site, but when I downloaded it, the line breaks were stripped out. So I've included the program below:

Tick mark puzzle.
I am bewildered by the behaviour of tickmarks as demonstrated by the
following code. (What I'm trying to do is draw a single tick mark
extending
from the axis all the way down to the tick label, which is two lines
from
the axis to make sure it doesn't overlap with the ``ordinary'' tick
labels.)
# Try 1:
# Gap between tickmark and label.

persp(): z-axis annotation overwrites numbers at tickmark
Dear R-users
first, thanks to Paul Murrell for fixing my problem "What line is labeled in
persp()".
It works great now (in the development version).
One more question (I don't know if it's related to the "old" problem): the
annotation on the z-axis
overwrites the numbers at the tickmarks and sometimes, if numbers are pretty
long, the numbers themselfe overlap the

Can't Get Lattice Histogram Minor Tick Marks to Work
I'm drawing a paneled histogram using the lattice package. I've succeeded in
adding minor tick marks to the vertical axis, but I can't get the desired
number of minor tick marks between the major tick marks.
I've attached a self-contained program to illustrate the problem.
Thanks for your help,
Don Macnaughton
