adding text to the corner of a lattice plot
Dear R community, I am using R 2.1.1 on Windows XP, package lattice Version 0.12-5, and want to add text (sort of a dat-stamp actually) to the lower left corner of a lattice plot, prefarably _after_ the plot has been created. Here is a simple example what I do in base graphics: # base graphics: > plot(rnorm(100), rnorm(100)) > mtext(as.character(Sys.Date()), side = 1,line = -2, outer = T,

time date stamp since, january 1st 1970
Hello, we are receiving some data, sample below - with a weird time/date stamp format, we need some help with R on converting this time date stamp to a useable field in R, date and time in a data-frame. The developer says its the number of milliseconds since midnight, January 1, 1970. sample: *1232558018624* --------------------- How do I interpret the time stamp? Is there a date, i need

time and date stamp in voicemail
Hi, I see that there's been some very light discussion on having a standard time and date stamp in VM. How can I implement it today? (About to offer a system to a customer but they need the stamp to tell when people called.) Thanks, -- Steve ______________________________________ This sig is pending approval

stamp function in R
Dear R experts, currently I'm converting a bit of trivial Splus code to R. In Splus I came across the stamp function. Does R have something similar? Thank you very much for your time. Ananke P.S.: Keep up the good work on R. It's great! date/time stamp
Hi ?Is there any way to reproduce the FTP behavior with Samba 3? The desired effect is not to respect timestamps from Windows files and just create them with Samba server date/time stamp when we drag/drop, copy/paste, cut/paste, old files to a disk share. We are replacing an FTP server with Samba3, so far it's doing great job, but this effect is needed (don't ask why please, app

Date Time Stamp with Caller ID
Where does the date/time stamp from Caller ID come from? On my extensions ATA188 and IAX2 soft phone the caller id date / time is 12/30 12:00AM. The Linux time is correct. SayUnixTime return the correct time. Any Ideas? Does this work? Thanks! -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

How to 'stamp' a plot with meta-data?
Dear R users, Sometimes, for tracking purposes, I am interested to add to a plot some metadata such as * the date it was produced * filename that stores the plot * perhaps data sources, author, etc Ideally, I would like to be able to do this for any kind of plot, plot(), barplot(), hist(), etc.; and, to be able to produce plots with or without the metadata by a simple toggle mechanism.

Positioning text in top left corner of plot
Simple question how can you position text in the top left hand corner of a plot? I am plotting multiple plots using par(mfrow=c(2,3)) and all I want to do is label these plots a), b), c) etc. I have been fiddling around with both text and mtext but without much luck. text is fine but each plot has a different scale on the axis and so this makes it problematic. What is the best way to do this?

text at the upper left corner outside of the plot region
Hi, is there a way to place text at the upper left corner (or another corner) of the plot? I want to place it really at the upper left corner of the whole plot (the file I get), not at the upper left corner of the plot-region. I tried text() and mtext(), and corner.label() of the plotrix package but it didn't work out. thanks!

Adding text to both grid and base graphs
Dear all, I'm stuck with the following problem: I generate graphs using both the grid system (with lattice) and the base system. I'd like to be able to identify these graphs later on with a bit of identifying text (e.g. a date and some comments). Adding text to these graphs cannot be done using a common system if you want to save them as emf files. I now use: mtext("labelling

size of graphs when using multiple figures by row
Hi all, I have a basic question concerning graphs in R. I?m using the par() function and I?m working with multiple figures by row (mfrow) but my the hight of my figures become compressed. I have 4 rows and 2 columns (because I want to plot 8 histograms (freq = FALSE ) on it. I know I can adapt my margins with for example ?oma? and ?mai? but I don?t know how to choose the size of the figure? I

Re: DSP stamp
Yes, the Theora codec is based on VP3, which is an earlier version of ON2's VP6 codec. Theora is currently at its alpha 3 release, and is stable enough to have been used already for streaming live video from a number of conferences, and for encoding several videos that can be found at www.theora.org. Development has progressed to the point that the value of the codec can be seen. That

Graphics - plotting two graphs
Hi, I wanted to plot 2 lines on a single graph. Each graph has one axis that can be common. The code that I'm using is: ------------------------------------------------------- par(mfrow=c(1, 1)) x1 <- c(2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12) x2 <- c(10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60) y1 <- c(10,12,15,22,34,21) y2 <- c(40, 130, 150, 145, 40, 30) par(las=1, mar=c(4, 4, 2, 4)) plot.new()

histogram of time-stamp data
Readers, A data set consists of time-stamp values: 00:00:00 23:11:00 06:22:00 The data set was imported: timestamps<-read.table("path/to/timestampsvalues") hist(timestamps) ...error... x must be numeric Then tried: plot(timestamps). How to adjust the graph to create a histogram where the intervals ranges can be specified, e.g. intervals of 60 minutes? Thanks in advance.

Split graphs
Hello All, I have a question, which somehow I think it is easy, however, I just couldn't get it. I want to histogram each row of a 1000*2 matrix( means it has 1000 rows), and I want to see those 1000 pictures together. How can I do this? Am I able to split a graph into 1000 parts and in each parts it contains a histogram for one row? Thank you very much Jessie
