The 'test.terms' argument in 'regTermTest' in package 'survey'
This is a question regarding the 'regTermTest' function in the 'survey' package. Imagine Z as a three level factor variable, and code ZB and ZC as the two corresponding dummy variables. X is a continuous variable. In a 'glm' of Y on Z and X, say, how do the two test specifications test.terms = c("ZB:X","ZC:X") # and test.terms = ~ ZB:X + ZC:X in

Help on BarPlot
Dear all As a new user of R, can someone please help me with the following I have created a programme to analyse laboratory data and one of the graphs is a bar plot of 'Z' scores. On the bar plot I am using the following line to plot some results barplot (zb[,c("ZBW")], ylim = c(-6,6), names.arg=zb[,c("LabNo")],xlab="Lab Code Number", cex.names = .5 ,

mixed models for analyzing survey data with unequal selec tion probability
Han-Lin I don't think I have seen a reply so I will suggest that maybe you could try a different approach than what you are thinking about doing. I believe the current best practice is to use the weights as a covariate in a regression model - and bytheway - the weights are the inverse of the probabilities of selection - not the probabilities. Fundamentally, there is a difficulty in making

design matrix construction question

Mixed Models providing a correlation structure.
Hi folks, I was wondering how to run a mixed models approach to analyze a linear regression with a user-defined covariance structure. I have my model y = xa +zb +e and b ~ N (0, C*sigma_square). (and a is a fixed effects) I would like to provide R the C (variance-covariance) matrix I can easily provide an example, but at this point I am first trying to know what is the best package the

SPlus to R
I'm trying to convert an S-Plus program to R.  Since I'm a SAS programmer I'm not facile is either S-Plus or R, so I need some help.  All I did was convert the underscores in S-Plus to the assignment operator <-.  Here are the first few lines of the S-Plus file:   sshc _ function(rc, nc, d, method, alpha=0.05, power=0.8,              tol=0.01, tol1=.0001, tol2=.005, cc=c(.1,2),

Robocopy, archive bit and ACLs
Hello, I'm attempting to set up a daily Robocopy task on a Windows Server 2016 to duplicate a large directory tree -- including data, timestamps and ACLs -- to a Samba 4.5.12 server. This is my Robocopy command: Robocopy.exe C:\source \\foo\bar /XA:SH /XJ /MIR /NODCOPY /COPY:DTSO /A+:A /ZB I noticed that for a significant number of files, Robocopy will systematically identify them as

combing list objects
Hi, I am trying to combine a long list but I can't work out how to do it, for example: abun<-list(rep(0,5),rep(0,7),rep(0,4),rep(0,10)) nb<-c(5,5,1,8) fill.abun <- function(x, y) { set <- sample(1:length(x), size = y) x[set] <- rlnorm(length(set)) return(x) } abun <- mapply(fill.abun, abun, nb) abun ## I want all the data in one

Unexpected b_hdr change.
Hi. We''re testing the most recent ZFS version from OpenSolaris ported to FreeBSD. Kris (CCed) observed strange situation. In function arc_read() he had a panic on assertion that we try to unlock a lock which is not beeing held: rw_enter(&pbuf->b_hdr->b_datalock, RW_READER); err = arc_read_nolock(pio, spa, bp, done, private, priority, flags, arc_flags, zb);

Combing xyplot and curve() plot via print
All, I'm trying to put an xyplot and a plot produced via curve() on the same page. It seems that mfrow and layout don't work, and now I'm trying print but that does not work either. Any suggestions much appreciated. Cheers, David p.11 = xyplot(1:10 ~ 1:10) curve(sin, 0,3, ylim=c(-3,3), ylab="sin and cos", lty = 1) curve(cos, 0,3, ylim=c(-3,3), lty = 5, add=TRUE)

Combing forest plots
Hi All, I am trying to combine two forest plots on the same page using the "forestplot" function in the rmeta package. Once I use the par() function to combine my plots on the same page, I find that my two plots are overlaying each other. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks! ________________________________ PHRI DISCLAIMER This information is directed in

question about cloud() in lattice package
Hi all, I have been previously been using scatterplot3d package to create some graphs but unfortunately it does not allow me to rotate the plot on all three axis. The cloud() function in the lattice package does allow me to do so. When I was using scatterplot3d I was using a script (Shown Below) to calculate the mean, quartiles and range limits for all three axis and I was representing that on the

Hi. petrb@bots-bnr1:/mnt$ btrfs subvolume delete ext2_saved/ Delete subvolume ''/mnt/ext2_saved'' ERROR: cannot delete ''/mnt/ext2_saved'' this is not really very descriptive. [RFC] btrfs-progs: fix sparse checking and warnings
Hi gang, I was a little surprised to see that patch go by recently which fixed an endian bug. I went to see how sparse checking looked and it was.. broken. I got it going again in my Fedora environment. Most of the patches are just cleanups, but there *were* three real bugs lurking in all that sparse warning spam. So I maintain that it''s worth our time to keep it going and fix

[LLVMdev] why we assume malloc() always returns a non-null pointer in instruction combing?
Hi, When looking into the bug in https://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=21421, I found a regression test in Transforms/InstCombine/malloc-free-delete.ll against me to directly fix it. The test is, define i1 @foo() { ; CHECK-LABEL: @foo( ; CHECK-NEXT: ret i1 false %m = call i8* @malloc(i32 1) %z = icmp eq i8* %m, null call void @free(i8* %m) ret i1 %z } According to

comparing and combing files
Hello, I have two tab-delimited files which I would like to combine. In the first one I have gene IDs (Unique) on column 1 and than various experimental results from microarray analysis (see attached files list1 ) the second arrays have the same genes IDs (more and in a different order, some are double) (see attached files list2 ) What I would like to do is to search in the second list for gene
