Slicing cra**y csv files
Hello,
For not too regular users of R, preparing the data is somehow a burden.
Comming from iMacro in FireFox I get a badly designed csv, which I need to
put into a daily R script.
The data looks like that (e.g.):
22 Results,"35 Results","39 Results","2 Results","7 Results","23
Results","42 Results","36 Results","22

Using a variable for mysql/database Query
Hello,
Collecting data I need to check in a mysql server. As the data are dependent
on each other I have to filter first.
However, I have now the problem that I find a value and would like to insert
it into a data query for the "real select" command. Obviously, typing 'x'
does not help as the database does not now this entry. Anyway to make it
work?
I am using RMYQL
Thanks!

Sorting a data frame by specifying a vector
Hello all,
I cannot seem to figure out this seemingly simple procedure.
I want to sort a data frame by a specified character vector.
So for :
df.. <- data.frame(Season=rep(c("Summer","Fall","Winter","Spring"),4),Obs=
runif(length(rep(c("Summer","Fall","Winter","Spring"),4))))
I want to sort the data frame

Subsetting matrix with values from vector
Hello,
I have a large matrix (data), in which there is a column offerid. The values
are numbers (lets say 1:5)
There is another vector (idnew), which contains some of the offerids and
many more (3:10).
I want a subset of the matrix wiith only those rows, which match the
criteria of the vector.
How can I make it work?
Thanks!

vector S4 classes
In the Green Book, section 7.5 discusses new vector classes and uses
quaternions
as an example of a vector class that needs more than one number per
element.
I would like to define a new class that has a numeric vector and a
logical
vector of the same length that specifies whether the measurement was
accurate.
The following code does not behave as desired:

gracefully killing samba sessions on ctdb node restart?
Hi guys,
We are currently running a clustered samba setup with 3 nodes very
successfully.
The only thing that bothers me is that whenever we change permissions on
a shared directory, we have to restart ctdb on the nodes where affected
users are still connected to push the changed permissions to the hosts
by basically killing their connections and thus forcing them to reconnect.
However,

rmysql query help
R HELP,
I am trying to use an R script to connect to a mysql database. I am
having a problem using a variable in the where clause that contains a
"space" in its value.
If I include the variable inside the quotes of the query - i think it is
searching for the name of the variable in the database and not the value
of the variable.
If I put it outside the quotes, then it complains

Simple Samba PDC - tdbsam limitations?
Hi,
I'm setting up a new Samba server, and am debating between LDAP
(complex, and I'm not that familiar with it) and tdbsam for the password
backend...
I understand the physical limitations (single PDC, no replication, etc),
which is fine, since this is a small office - about 50 workstations,
possibly growing to as many as 75, but no more than that.
What are the limitations of the

Link Aggregation limitations
Is there any limitations about using link aggregation (dladm)?
- maximum number of link aggregation per server?
- maximum number of NICs per link aggregation?
Is there any documentation where I can read more abaout it?
Thanks,
Gustavo.

smbmount limitations
Hello,
I am trying to use smbmount to mount a Samba share that is larger than 2
TB. However, the amount of disk space that is displayed from the "df
-k" command for the mounted share is only 2 TB, and when I try to access
the share, my terminal session hangs. Is there a limitation on the size
of the share that can be mounted?
Thanks,

Pxelinux 2.09 limitations
Hi all, I've just found a small bug this morning. My pxelinux.cfg
contains 65 entries. The last one is never usable by pxelinux.0. It
sounds like the number of entries is managed on 6 bits :)
Is there a reason for that ? Is it possible to have a bugfix for that ?
Best regards,

Are there limitations on the number of devices that can be assigned to each
DomU?
If I assign more than 2 devices to a Windows domain, one of them doesn''t
work.

cgroups limitations on Virtual machines
I have 2 VMs launched by : 'virsh create <xml file>' . Both VMs get 2
vcpus (out of total 2 cores of the host)
I then try bias their cpu cycle quota by manipulating the cpu_shares (
virsh schedinfo --set cpu_shares=<value> vm1/2 ) so that VM1 will get 3
times the cpu cycles VM2 gets.
(e.g : VM1 cpu_shares = 150 . VM2 cpu_shares = 50) .
There are no other VMs defined or
