How to get a specific named element in a nested list
Hello, I have a nested named list structure, like the following: x <- list( list( list(df1,df2) list(df3, list(df4,df5)) list(df6,df7))) with df1...d7 as data frames. Every data frame is named. Is there a way to get a specific named element in x? so, for example, x[[c("df5")]] gives me the data frame 5? Thank you in advance! Best, Friedericksen

reading excel into R
Dear all, I am new R user and I am sure that this question has been asked quite often and I have also googled it and read about it! I understood that in order to read excel sheet into R you need to open it and saved it as csv or text, is this true? or you can use read.delim2 and read.csv2 to do this without the following error > dat <- read.csv2(file="C:\\Dokumente und

save in for loop
Dear users, My problem concerns save() within a for loop. Here is my code: for (i in 1:4) { temp <- data.frame(a=(i+1):(i+10), b=LETTERS[(i+1):(i+10)]) filename <- paste("file", i, sep="") assign(filename, temp) save(filename, file=paste(filename, ".rda", sep="")) } As you can see, save() doesn't work as I would like: (1) the object

Maintaining Column names while writing csv file.
Dear R helpers, I have one trivial problem while writing an output file in csv format. I have two dataframes say df1 and df2 which I am reading from two different csv files. df1 has column names as date, r1, r2, r3 while the dataframe df2 has column names as date, 1w, 2w. (the dates in both the date frames are identical also no of elements in each column are equal say = 10). I merge these

duplicate data between two data frames according to row names
Hi everybody. I'll first explain my problem and what I'm trying to do. Admit this example: I'm working on 5 different weather stations. I have first in one file 3 of these 5 weather stations, containing their data. Here's an example of this file: DF1 <- data.frame(station=c("ST001","ST004","ST005"),data=c(5,2,8)) And my two other stations in

use object within rda file in for loop
Dear users, I would like to process all the lists from all *.rda files that I have in one folder. Up to now, I can load all the *.rda files without any problem. The problem is when I want to access the list saved within each *.rda file (only one list per rda file). Here is my code: fpath <- "D:/R" listnames <- list.files(path=fpath, pattern=glob2rx("*.rda"),

Null-Hypothesis
Hello R users, I've used the following help two compare two regression line slopes. Wanted to test if they differ significantly: Hi, I've made a research about how to compare two regression line slopes (of y versus x for 2 groups, "group" being a factor ) using R. I knew the method based on the following statement : t = (b1 - b2) / sb1,b2 where b1 and b2 are the two slope

median of two groups
Dear all, What is the right test to test whether the median of two groups are statistically significant? Is it the wilcox.test, mood.test or the ks.test? In the text book I have got there is explanation for the Wilcoxon (Mann Whitney) test which tests ob the two variable are from the same population and also ks.test! Is the 0.31 the p-value that the median f two groups are equal Why lty does not work here? Many thanks

I know that i can do something like this: Suppose that my data is in df variable new_df<-data.frame(c(df[,1],df[,2],df[,3],df[,4],...........) This works but i have 100 variables! Any way of doing

However I am not able to figure out how to apply the function to multiple sets of data. # MY QUERY Suppose I am having following data.frame df = data.frame(k = c(1:8), ratings = c("A",

The values that I am trying to save from df1 are factors with alphanumeric names df1 looks like this: 'data.frame': 3014 obs. of 13 variables: $ Num : int 1 1 1 2 2 2 3 3 3 4 ... $ Tag_Num : int 1195
