Documentation and howto
Hi all.
I'm really intrested on how the CentOS team rebuilds all of the packages
from the src rmps: build environment, setup, tips and tricks.
Is there documentation about this somewhere?
Thanks.

Hi list,
I have installed samba 2.2.8 on my linux rh 9. with Openldap rmps. I am
trying to setup a PDC server using Samba with ldap as the backend. The samba
server can not connect to the ldap server. I am getting the following error

3.0.14 and MacOs X (tiger)
Hi!
I upgraded our sambainstallation today since it got into problems with
Windows ADS 2003.
So I installed all suse rmps for 9.2 (samba 3.0.14) and tested with a few
windows boxes and everything works perfektly. No more strange errormessages
in the logs about not finding existing users.
Now to the problem, when I came back to my own computer, MacOs X 10.4, i

a SuSE 8.0 pro, running samba 2.2.3a as a PDC
two WinXP pro boxes, both with that 'requiresignorseal' registry patch
applied, lets call them a and b.
what happens is this:
a is a happy domain member. everything's yummy.
b joins the domain, reboots. on login attempt, b says 'domain not available'
now, login on box a. a says: 'domain not available'...

Melbourne Asterisk Users meet next Thursday
Hi all,
If you're in Melbourne Australia and interested in Asterisk, you're
invited to join us for a casual evening to talk about Asterisk, VOIP,
networks, and just generally get geeky about IP phone stuff.
Ultimately, I think it would be interesting and useful to turn this
into a monthly get-together, so I'd like to talk about that too.
Anyone with an interest is welcome; from

Mounting cifs shares by non-root users on CentOS 4.6
I'm trying to set up mounting of a Windows share for non-root users via
/etc/fstab on a CentOS 4.6 box - I've followed the instructions at:
<http://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/WindowsShares>
Using something like the /etc/fstab example given in the wiki page
(with, of course, using a valid share, username and password for my set up):
//winbox/getme /mnt/win cifs

Grandstream Budgetone BT-101 audio problems
Hi all,
I'm having a really frustrating time with a bunch of BT-101 phones.
They've been trouble-free and working very well for the past several
months. A couple of days ago, some of the phones (but not all of them,
yet) have started acting very strangely. All phones are running
firmware 1.0.6.7, and are identically configured (except for the
user/authenticate/password things) on both the

Netatalk and Samba???
Hi all,
Looking for a "best practices" way to share out to both Mac and PC easily.
I know Windoze enables the same sharepoint for both the mac and pc shares
and there don't seem to be any real "problems" by doing that. However I
work in an environment which forces us to utilize Win9x through XP as well
as OS 9 through 10.x on the mac side. I need a user friendly way to

balancer://mongrel_cluster
A couple of questions please:
What is the benefit of having more than one Mongrel/Rails instance on
the same machine, could one instance not serve as many requests as say
three instances?
Is Mongrel Cluster a Apache add-in (like mod_*) or a separately running
load balancer which runs on a separate port, I could not work it out
from the sample Apache config...

Setting up Mongrel and Apache , some direction needed
I have a site that is PHP on Apache / RedHat , but will send requests to a
subdomain (running Rails) for database operations.
I believe the set up should be to have ROR using Mongrel, and an Apache
virtual host passing requests from apache to mongrel.
Does this sound correct ?
I believe the Virtual Host is set up in Apache.
One of my problems is I can''t find the httpd.conf file for

Large disk support
I have a 3.5 TB RAID 5 Array through a 3ware 9590SE 8 port card, and am
running into what seems like quite a lot of problems trying to get the system
installed correctly. The system is a running dual Opterons with 2 GB of RAM,
and I'm attempting to install through the x86_64 ServerCD.
First, grub refuses to install on the disk, as it's too large. I can get

rpmforge/dag's perl-Apache-ASP
Has anyone actually had any success in installing the perl-Apache-ASP package
from rpmforge? CentOS 4 seems to have just the right combination of almost
using mod_perl 2 (1.99 before major API changes) to make this extremely hard
to get right while staying with somewhat standard packages. I suspect it's
in the repo but not actually tested, as I've tried quite a few combinations

Apache Setup, static site = site.com, rails = site.com/rails
I have a static site at:
http://www.site.com
and I want Aails site to live at:
http://www.site.com/cms
(so that I can have the two sites communicate via AJAX without security
issues)
Is this possible using Apache? Maybe somebody point in the right
direction. I''m pretty good with httpd.conf, but haven''t figured out the
right directives to get this going.
Thanks
