Repeated measures on a factorial unbalanced in a blocks with split-plot design
Dear all, I am trying to analyze data from an experiment like this: Factors: Hormone - Levels: SH, CH (S = without; C=with; H=Hormone) Time - Levels: 19/08/09, 04/09/09, 18/09/09, 08/10/09, 20/10/09 (DD/MM/YY) Nutrition - Levels: Completa, Sem (without) Macronutrition - Levels: Ca, K, Mg, P, Sem (without) Time is the measures day. It reflect the days after germination. Blocks : 4 plants per

Repeated measures unbalanced in a split-split design
Hi, I have a experiment with block, plots, sub-plots, and sub-sub-plots with repeated measures and 3 factors (factorial design) when we have been observed diameter (mm), high (cm) and leaves number (count). However, we don't have one treatment in one factor, so, my design is unbalanced. On a previous message here, a friend tell me that "It appears to me that your design is a split-split

Categorical data repeated on time analysis
Hi, I am trying to analyze a data set when nematodes were killed after a drug administration. We have counted the number of nematode died and the number of nematode survival at three time points. So, there are 100% died in some plot and could be found zero percent in another. Then, the data set have a lot of zeros. I have googled and found a lot of information. Moreover, my data isn't

Input file format to Anova from car package
Dear list member, My question is related to input file format to an Anova from car package. Here is an example of what I did: My file format is like this (and I dislike the idea that I will need to recode it): Hormone day Block Treatment Plant Diameter High N.Leaves SH 23 1 1 1 3.19 25.3 2 SH 23 1 1 2 3.42 5.5 1 SH 23 1 2 1 2.19 5.2 2 SH 23 1 2 2 2.17 7.6 2 CH 23 1 1 1 3.64 6.5 2 CH 23 1 1 2

Hi, I run a maanova analysis and found this message error: Error in ma.svd(X, 0, 0) : 0 extent dimensions I did a google search and found this: \item ma.svd: function to compute the sigular-value decomposition of a rectangular matrix by using LAPACK routines DEGSVD AND ZGESVD. \item fdr: function to calculate the adjusted P values for FDR control. I did a search for LAPACK and

Adding RcppFrame to RcppResultSet causes segmentation fault
Hi, I'm a bit puzzled. I uses exactly the same code in RcppExamples package to try adding RcppFrame object to RcppResultSet. When running it gives me segmentation fault problem. I'm using gcc 4.1.2 on redhat 64bit. I'm not sure if this is the cause of the problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Rob. int numCol=4; std::vector<std::string>

R died on large data set
Hi, I am trying to run a script on R and it died before finish. I already read the list archives, and memory help pages (http://tinyurl.com/yaxco6w), but I am unable to solve the issue. My Debian shows: marcelo at laia:~$ ulimit unlimited marcelo at laia:~$ On system monitor (gnome) I see that R reaches 1.9 Gb, before die. The R code is: > ls() ## only todos.norm object are listed [1]

subset factor?
Hi, I used subset command, like this: grupoP = subset(dados, grupos=='P', select=c(mortos, vivos, doses, percevejos, p)) and the variables in select option are numeric. I tried fit a model with command: ajuste.logit = glm(cbind(mortos,percevejos)~log10(doses), family=binomial(logit), data=grupoP) and the output is: > ajuste.logit = glm(cbind(mortos,percevejos)~log10(doses),

multiple comparisons in nested design
Dear professors and collegues I need to perform a analysis of dates from a nested experimental design. From "Bioestatical Analysis" of Zar "Bimetry of Sokal" & Rohlf "Design and Analysis of Experiments" of Montgomery I have: Sum (mean(x)_i - mean(x)_T)2 / (a-1) -> var(epsilon) + n sigma2_B + n b (sum alfa_i)2 / (a-1) Sum (mean(x)_ij - mean(x)_i)2 /

Tukey's table
Hi, I'm building Tukey's table using qtukey function. It happens that I can't get the values of Tukey's one degree of freedom and also wanted to eliminate the first column. The program is: Trat <- c(1:30) # number of treatments gl <- c(1:30, 40, 60, 120) # degree freedom tukval <- matrix(0, nr=length(gl), nc=length(Trat)) for(i in

Difficult to set a quiet formula in maanova
Hi, I am trying to run an analysis with the package maanova and I am not getting success. I suppose that I am wrong on set up the formula, so the issue may not be related to R, properly. I have two varieties of plants (V1 and V2). A group of each ones were treated and another was not treated. After treatment, in three different time RNA was collected from treated and from not treated plants for

gnls - Step halving....
Hi all, I'm working with a dataset from 10 treatments, each treatment with 30 subjects, each subject measured 5 times. The plot of the dataset suggests that a 3-parameter logistic could be a reasonable function to describe the data. When I try to fit the model using gnls I got the message 'Step halving factor reduced below minimum in NLS step'. I´m using as the initial values of the

Hartley's table
Hi, I used the commands below to make Hartley's table, but some values are NA. require(SuppDists) trat = seq(2, 15, 1) gl = seq(2, 40, 1) har = matrix(0, nr=length(gl), nc=length(trat)) for(i in 1:length(gl)) for(j in 1:length(trat)) har[i,j] <- qmaxFratio(.95, df=gl[i], k=trat[j]) rownames(har) <- gl colnames(har) <- trat head(har) The output (head): 2

Split Plot and Tukey
Hi, I did the analysis of variance of a split-plot and the effect of treatment was significant. I would like compare treatment means using Tukey. I can't extract the mean square to apply HSD.test to use in agricolae package. anava = aov(ganhos ~ Blocos + Trat*Supl + Error(Blocos/Trat)) names(anava) summary(anava) require(agricolae) HSD.test(ganhos, Trat, df, MSerror, alpha = 0.05)

plot survival points
Hi all, I have a little problem. I make an weibull survival analysis using the survival package. It,s OK, them I have the functions. I plot this funcions with curve(). I want to make a plot with the real survival points (proportion of alive x time) and them add the curves to points. I have the time to dead, the censor data and my trataments. To analysis the model is: model1 <-

fixed and random effects in lme
Hi All, I would like to ask a question on fixed and random effecti in lme. I am fiddlying around Mick Crawley dataset "rats" : http://www.bio.ic.ac.uk/research/mjcraw/statcomp/data/ The advantage is that most work is already done in Crawley's book (page 361 onwards) so I can check what I am doing. I am tryg to reproduce the nested analysis on page 368:
