Incorrect shell quotation in scp
Hi,
as the current debian maintainer of the openssh package is a bit busy,
I'm helping him with fixing a part of the bugs in openssh that debian
users found will forward some of the reports to you. This is the first
one and a fix or a comment why this should not be fixed would be
appropriated. Thanks
Space in filename is not correctly passed by scp to other invoked

R: R: Missing 'security' tab
I apologize overturned the sentence, rewrite it properly!
I explain better: I have another linux machine added to the domain but from the same windows stain to which I log in with a domain admins account, if I connect to this other machine I see the tab security but if I connect to this machine I do not see the tab security

randomForests predict problem
Hello everybody,
I'm testing the randomForest package in order to do some simulations and I
get some trouble with the prediction of new values. The random forest
computation is fine but each time I try to predict values with the newly
created object, I get an error message. I thought I was because NA values
in the dataframe, but I cleaned them and still got the same error. What am

Help with Merge - unexpected loss of factor level
Hi, Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me, I am very stumped on this problem...
I use R every day and consider myself a confident user, but this seems to be an elementary problem..
Outline of problem: I am analysing the results of a study on protein expression in cancer tissues. I have raw intensities from 2 different types of cancer and normal tissue, which can be taken from several

I am working with a database system from which I can retrieve these kinds of user defined fields formed as XML ...

Theora file extension
Theora and Vorbis both uses same extension .ogg. I know ogg is a
container, just like avi. But in my opinion video and audio files should
have different extensions (using .ogv can be a nice idea).
To a media player it doesn't matter what extension a file uses, but to a
human who does a ls in a directory full of media files having different
extensions will help a lot. I know one can use file

Missing 'security' tab
Hi,
I try to formulate the question better! :)
I’ve successfully joined an ubuntu 16.04 machine, as member server, to an active directory domain Windows server 2012 R2 following the instructions in the wiki.samba.org “Setting up Samba as a Domain Member” now I set the acls using Windows acl on a share. For that I followed the instruction in the “Setting up a Share Using Windows ACLs” in the wiki.

why this function give error message
Dear R guru,
I am Saikat Sarkar working as a researcher of Economics in Tampere
University, Finland. I am trying to estimate some Garch related tests with
Bayesian analysis by R programme.
I am not good in R but trying to survive.
Anyway I have the coding but not working properly. I have tried to find the
problem but failed. I am writing to all R gurus to help me out.
Could you please look at

return value of {....}
Again, John, we are comparing different designs in languages that are often
decades old and partially retrofitted selectively over the years.
Is it poor form to use global variables? Many think so. Discussions have
been had on how to use variables hidden in various ways that are not global,
such as within a package.
But note R still has global assignment operators like <<- and its partner
