After extracting the spec file out an srpm and editing it, how does one execute $rpmbuild --rebuild package.srpm and use the new spec file as a non-root user inside a home dir build root? Thanks! jlc

I have just install OOo 2.3 on new centos 5 box. However OO keep open registration wizard everytime launched, even though i already select "i do not want to register". I've been playing with "$HOME/.openoffice.org2/" but still no luck. This problem did not happen on FC6, so i guess its not OOo bug. --beast

OK, I downloaded a batch of ".rm" audio files from the net. I can play them with mplayer or realplayer, but how can I convert them to something else, e.g. mp3, etc.? So far haven't unearthed any tools that can both read them and write out in another format. Just wondering, what's the roadmap for OO to be upgraded. I have version 2.0.4 and official is already in 2.3.x and suppose in march there's going to be 2.4 version. As well as Gimp, we using 2.2 and there is 2.4.x Anyone heard upstream roadmap for upgrading? Jarmo

I installed my kernel source using rpm -ivh kernel-`uname -r`.el5.src.rpm it installs perfectly, without error, but if I cd to the /usr/src/redhat folder, all I get is SOURCES and SPECS... rpm -qa | grep kernel doesn't return the kernel source rpm I installed only the kernel, devel and headers. And I can't find the actual kernel source

Hi, I'm using the preconfigured firewall that comes with CentOS 5. I configure it with system-config-securitylevel-tui, close all ports except SSH, and then open only the ones I need. Right now, on one of my desktops, I've installed AMSN, which requires opening a series of ports. I've configured the app to use ports 7000 to 7010 (TCP and UDP). When running
