It refers to line 31, i'm not going to show the complete file, but here is the indicated line: raid swap --fstype swap --level=RAID1 raid.4 raid.7 and the raid lines: part raid.7 --size=512 --ondisk=hdb part raid.4 --size=512

Intro
Hi all, I'm very glad to have found this list as I've made a leap of faith and installed CentOS5 as my new testbed/dev machine. An advance 'thank you' to all more experienced than I for answers and a promise to be concise in my (surely about to become) abundant questions and just as forthcoming with answers I may have to help others. Regards from sunny Florida, US. ~Ray

logwatch not mailing
Hi, # uname -a Linux obfuscated.example.com 2.6.18-128.4.1.el5 #1 SMP Tue Aug 4 20:23:34 EDT 2009 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux I noticed a few days ago that I'm not getting my logwatch emails to the root account any longer, and while I've definitely been applying updates from base, no other changes have happened on this box. I ran logwatch at the command line: logwatch --detail medium

disk space issues...any help is greatly appreciated
Hi all, Please pardon my newbie-ness on this issue....I've a / partition which is full (quite suddenly, actually) and I'm not sure how to fix this. I've searched for uneeded logs, etc in /var/log and /tmp to no avail. The system is CentOS 5.2 and is not connected to the internet, serves as a local LAN server running stock stuff...sendmail, dovecot, apache..nothing strange or

How to prevent virtual machines running twice on the disk images?
I use KVM on two identical centos5 hosts. I can live migrate the virtual machines from one to the other and it works great. Once I do this, I can see VM definitions on both hosts using virt-manager or virsh list --all On one machine the VM is running, on the other it reports "shut off". The disk images are accessible to both host machines and I want to have only one running a the time

selinux prohibiting sssd usage
I've got a CentOS 6 machine that's slated to go into production providing some web and development-repository services. Part of the environment is gitweb, which works as expected with one glitch: SELinux doesn't allow gitweb.cgi to query sssd to display who owns the repositories. The audit log entries are pretty straightforward, e.g., type=AVC msg=audit(XXXXXXXXXXXX): avc:

new CentOS 5 as DNS server
Hi folks, As a breather from the "thread-now-wider-than-my-headers-window-in-thunderbird" conversation re: mixing repos, I have a question regarding a machine I'm about to put online. :) I run a web hosting company and my secondary (primary to the world) DNS box died from a massive rootkit/hack last night. It was running an old Slackware 9.1 installation and I will be completely

NSS ldap problems
I'm having trouble setting up ldap based authenication. I have a virtual (KVM) CentOS 5.4 box set up to authenticate to a 389 (fedora) directory server, and that works fine. However, I set up a virtual box running CentOS 6, and I can't get it to authenicate. I've run authconfig with the appropriate flags, ldapsearch properly finds the data, but I can't log in. /var/log/secure

Hi community, In CentOS 7 there is such rpm (libcxx-devel - it seems from EPEL repository), but in CentOS 8 it isn't. How is it possible to have it there as RPM? because alternative to build it (libc++) from sources is a big headache (I need it in order to build v9 and plv8 projects) Thanks

Tomcat5 with Oracle/Sun jdk on CentOS 5.8
I know this question could be asked on tomcat or possibly other mailing lists, but I'm hoping I can get some help here instead of joining yet another list. I'm running tomcat5 on CentOS 5.8. I'm trying to setup Oracle/Sun java rather than icedtea. I've installed the latest jdk 1.7 and setup alternatives on centos for java and javac: # java -version java version

microcode_ctl-2.1-16 hard crash on Intel E5 2667 v4 CPUs
Hello all! I'm brand new to the mailing list, and I've encountered an issue with the microcode_ctl package version 2.1-16 being installed during the CentOS 7.3 upgrade. It causes my servers to hard stop and they need to be forcibly powered off and back on again with the power button to continue. This RedHat thread https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1398698 details the issue,

Up to date guide/information Sendmail SMTP Auth
Hello all, I've been googling my brains out since yesterday looking for up-to-date information on this matter, and have found information that is anywhere from 15 to 5 years old. I'd really like some information that much more up to date on the subject. Specifically configuring Sendmail SMTP authentication (_no smart host stuff_). I've got Sendmail 8.14 installed on a CentOS 7.3
