Save object R with tkgetSaveFile
HI, my question is about the function tkgetSavefile not save any file, for
example the next script run OK but
not save the file who i like to save, how i cant to save and object R with
tkgetSaveFile, how i use the
function save(objet, file="foo.R") with tkgetSaveFile ?What is the error?.

Separating columns, and sorting by rows
Dear anyone who knows more about R than me (so everyone). I have been bashing

WTB / WTS Voip hardware
I've got a Wildcard T100P along with a Zhone Zplex 10 24S/O which has
been working fine for me now for a while.
These have been pulled out of a working Asterisk installation (as they
were no longer required) to use at home only to find that the fan noise

Hello,
the admonition of Prof. Ripley to search the documentation to solve my problem
helped, today I read a lot more on Tcl/Tk than before ;-)
But now I'm stuck again. With the help of my script some functions are plotted
on the display, then I ask if the user wants to save it as pdf. In windows I
use winDialog and it works. But I can't succeed in Linux. In short:

ggplot2 geom_rect(): What am I missing here
Hi R fans,
As a newbie following the five-hour rule (after hitting my head against
the wall for five hours, post to this list), I am appealing for some
help understanding geom_rect() in ggplot2.
What I want to do is very simple. I want to generate a plot of
rectangles. Each one represents a business cycle. The x-values will be
pairs representing the start and end of each cycle. The y-values

plot.hclust: dendrogram too large for window (PR#4197)
plot.hclust:
Setting up a window for a dendrogram assumes the first link is
the shortest and the last is the longest. This is not always the
case when the clustering was done with hclust, method="median"
or method="centroid", and the dendrogram sometimes doesn't fit
within the window.
I propose the fix listed below.

behavior of L-BFGS-B with trivial function triggers bug in stats4::mle
With the exception of "L-BFGS-B", all of the
other optim() methods return the value of the function
when they are given a trivial function (i.e., one with no
variable arguments) to optimize. I don't think this
is a "bug" in L-BFGS-B (more like a response to
an undefined condition), but it leads to a bug in stats4::mle --

incomplete final line found on <name of my sourced function file>
Dear R-ers,
I hope there is a really simple solution to my problem.
I've written a function that I saved in an .r file. I source this file
in my code. For a while it worked fine. But then when I run the line:

How to wrap or split labels on plot
Dear R gurus,
I want to wrap labels that are too long for a plot. I have looked at
strsplit(), substr(), nchar(), and strwrap(). I think it's some
combination but I'm having difficulty trying to figure out the right
combo. I think I need to create some new matrix containing the labels
already split, though I'm not sure if maybe there is a quick and dirty
way to address this

Extracting Coefficients and Such from mle2 Output
The mle2 function (bbmle library) gives an example something like the

How to use nls when [selfStart] function returns NA or Inf??

I posted this a couple of weeks ago with no responses. My interface (via

highlighting clusters in a heatmap
I would like to draw horizontal or vertical lines on a heatmap to
highlight the clusters at some specified cut depth of the dendrogram.
As a hacked example, the following code would work if I could set the
coordinates of the top and bottom of the false color image correctly
(ymin and ymax), but the correct values seem to depend on the output
