LoginGraceTime
Hello, We've found some undesirable behavior with respect to LoginGraceTime. A minor code change in session.c seems to clear it up, but now I'm asking for help in better understanding the problem and determining if there any unexpected side effects of the change. First, the code change: $ diff orig_session.c session.c 216c216,218 < alarm(0); --- >

ssh-agent too easy to hack
1/ Most correctly configured unix servers are fairly secure. Workstations on the other hand are extremely easy to compromise. Even if the eeprom (on a sparc) is password protected the fact that a hacker can get physical access to the machine means that it's very likely to be compromised, but thats just life. (I'm sure at least some readers on this list will at some time in there life have

How can I have the same ssh key for dual boot (ssh-keygen)
I use: ssh-keygen -t rsa to generate a key file (id_rsa.pub) which I copy into authorized_keys2 on other machines in order to permit ssh to these machines without being asked for a password. The thing is that I have dual boot on this machine: one for fedora and one for ubuntu. The two key files which were generated on these machine are different. Is there a way so that I will have the same key

Installation on CYGWIN Failed (PR#9442)
Hi, I tried to install R-2.4.1 on cygwin system. "./configure" succeeded, but make failed. Below, I provide the output from the process: error message, and info from configure output, in that order. I appreciate that someone can guide me (technically in-sophisticated) through this process. Again, thanks for your help. Michael Niu (1). Output from make make[3]:

R CMD INSTALL fails if cd prints stuff to stdout ... (PR#8363)
--Boundary_(ID_erFAa+o6kWefQxXf6GD2RA) Content-type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-disposition: inline Content-transfer-encoding: 7bit Dear all, I came across puzzling behaviour of R CMD INSTALL, which I tracked down to the fact that in some shells (or in some user customizations of them), the cd command prints out the new directory. As a result, the $pkgs variable gets a

(PR#8363) R CMD INSTALL fails if cd prints stuff to stdout
What shells are these? You don't give an example that causes trouble, and in particular no way to reproduce this. The behaviour you describe is prohibited by the POSIX standard, so the problem would appear to be with the unnamed shell. I can see how it could happen if a user redefines 'cd', but then a user could redefine all the commands in his OS and we have to make some

When I load the codec as an Audio Codec the call to AudioCodecInitialize appears to work but if I then get the IsInitialized property that says it is not initialized - so looks like that is my problem, and ties up with the crash in vorbis_synthesis_start(). Looks like vorbis_synthesis_init() has not been called, perhaps. There's sample code out there that suggests people have got this

fast matrix-vector multiplication
Hi all, Is there a way to do a matrix multiplication in a faster way? I am making a product of a matrix (composed of a lot of dummy variables) and a vector, and is there any way to make it faster? The simple X %*% y takes too long a time. I know using sparse matrix would help, but don't know how to do it i R. Thank you.
