"Error: object 'cloud' not found"
Hi, I installed the lattice package so I can plot 3D "cloud" scatterplots: > install.packages("lattice") But (after successfully installing from the Berkeley mirror), R insists it cannot find the cloud function, part of the lattice package: > cloud Error: object 'cloud' not found What did I do wrong? Thanks! PT -- View this message in context:

Plotting a 3D surface
Hi Does R have a function or has someone written a function to draw a 3d surface from a scatter plot of values using either ksmooth or locpoly. OR a transform function a that merges x relation z and y relation z to (x,y) relation z? I tried out scatterplot3d but it seems it would take a bit of work to get scatterplot3d to draw a curved surface. Lawrence

How to plot 3-D surface graph from lmer mixed models?
Dear R users, I have a problem in plotting 3 dimensional graph using mixed models. My model is sur_prop ~ afr_c+I(afr_c^2)+I(afr_c^3)+byear_c+I(byear_c^2)+I(byear_c^3)+I(byear_c^4)+(1|Studyparish)+afr_c:byear_c +afr_c:I(byear_c^2)+afr_c:I(byear_c^3)+afr_c:I(byear_c^4)+I(afr_c^2):byear_c+I(afr_c^2):I(byear_c^2)+I(afr_c^2):I(byear_c^3)+I(afr_c^2):I(byear_c^4) This is a study on the effect of

Help on plotting a 3 dimensional surface
Hi Im working on my master thesis, I need to get a plot currents distributed over a surface. I have the data listed in a dataframe with the x coordinates, y coordinates and the value. Im using the persp function but I’ve not found out how to put the data into the z1 variable es <-read.table("RDatalog_pass_dev_1_wafers_1_8V.txt",header=T,sep="\t") x1 <-

Surface plot for polynomial regression
Dear R-experts, my goal is to visualize the following polynomial regression as a 3D-surface: Z = b0 + b1*X + b2*Y + b3*XY + b4*X^2 + b5*Y^2 I believe that a solution to this problem may be of interest to a wider range of scientists because the problem is a derivative of a more general problem, i.e.: how to describe the relationship between one dependent variable and the DIFFERENCE between two

Covariace or variogram surface
Hi I'm interested in doing a anisotropy analysis of some spatial data and I want to do a contour plot of a covariance or variogram surface to visualize the directions of maximal and minimal anisotropy. I know how to do a contour plot :-) but how can I obtain the variogram surface having a geoeas format dataset (X, Y, Z) ? Thanks EJ

interactive rotatable 3d scatterplot
I would like to create a 3d scatterplot that is interactive in the sense that I can spin it on its axes to better visualize some PCA results I have. What are the options in R? I've looked at RGL and perhaps it will suffice but it wasn't apparent from the documentation I found. Any demo scripts available for a package that will work? Mark -- Mark W. "cloud" function doesn't plot
Forgive me please if this has been answered previously, but the r-help archive doesn't have a "search" capability. It's a pity, as I'm sure that there's a wealth of informative help in there. I am unable to get the "cloud" function to produce a fundamental 3D scatterplot. I have a 3-column numeric matrix: >is.matrix(sanity.MIF); is.numeric(sanity.MIF);

Tick marks in cloud (lattice)
Hi! Probably a simple question, but I can't get any tick marks in the 3d scatterplot I created using the cloud function. The following works to display the three groups using different symbols: data(iris) cloud(Sepal.Length ~ Petal.Length * Petal.Width, data = iris, cex = 1.2, groups = Species, pch = c(16,1,1), col = c("black","black","red"), subpanel =

Identifying a subset of observations on a 3d-scatter plot using cloud()
Hello everyone, This is my first post to the mailing list, so I hope I am posting my message the correct way. I am trying to present my dataset in a 3d scatterplot using cloud() in the {lattice} package. I hope to explicitly identify a subset of my observations. The observations in this subset need to satisfy the following critera (values on x,y, and z axes above a certain cutoff value). It

Lattice: correct use of ltransform3dto3d to plot a surface under a cloud ?
Hello list! I am trying to project the fitted surface to a 3d plot of the data, similar to figures 13.7 or 6.5 in Deepayan Sarkar's "Lattice, Multivariate Data Visualization with R", but replace the contour/map lines with "levelplot". Problem is I can't get the color regions to line up after the coordinate transformation. Is there a simple solution my geometry

3D Graph Surface and single points (eg wireframe with points)
Hallo! ? I just want to make a 3D plot of a surface of a cone and want to plot some single points around. ? I tried wireframe but cannot find how to plot single points ? I tried scatterplot3d but there the surface is not simple to plot. And: How can I rotate the point of view by the z-axis ? I tried persp3d but how can I add some single points? ? Example: ? library(lattice) library(scatterplot3d)

3D-surface colour based on the values of X or Y data points
Dear R-experts, Using persp3d(), I plotted a 3d surface. I would like to colour this surface based on the result values (dependent variable) grouped in, say, three to five different ranges. Later, I would also like to paint the same surface based on the range-values of one of the independent variables. Please help. Thank you. Regards, Suresh -- View this message in context:

3d plot of earth with cut
Hello, Could someone suggest a package/way to make a 3D raster plot of the Earth (with continent boundaries), and then make a "cut" or "slice" of it such that one can also visualize some scalar quantity as a function of the Radius/Depth across that given slice ? Formally, I would have a given, fixed longitude, and a list of vectors {latitude, radius, Value} that would show

Plotting LDA results
Dear Users! I think I still have some problems in understanding LDA and the methods of plotting the results. The case is the following: I'm having a dataset containing two classes where each datapoint has 19 dimensions. Training with lda(...) works fine, and I'm getting 19 LD coefficients. So far so good. Now I want to visualize the result, and here is where my simple knowledge ends. What

superimpose multiple scatterplot matrices
Dear R- experts, I am trying to superimpose two or more scatterplot matrices generated by pairs() to visualize the differences over each datasets, but have not been very successful. Two data frames, df1 and df2 for example, each has the same five variables in columns. My goal is to paint each dataset with a color on the same plot panel for each pair of the five variables. That is, in this

Additional points to scatter plot show up at wrong place
Hi everyone, I have a problem with adding points to scatter plots. The plot is drawn with the scatterplot() function from the car library: scatterplot(data[,2] ~ data[,1], data=data,smooth=F,reg.line=F,xlim=c(0.5,1),ylim=c(0.5,1),ylab="ML",xlab="Freq",cex.lab=1.9,cex.axis=1.8) after that, I draw one line with abline(0,1,col="gray20") which works perfectly fine.
