plot.igraph
I am having trouble plotting one of my graphs (think graph theory graph with
edges and vertices, not scatterplots or histograms). For some pairs of
vertices, I want multiple edges to be visible in my graph. As an example of
this, in my script below, I want two edges to be visible from vertex 1 and
vertex 9 (among some others) yet when I plot it, only one edge is visible.

igraph package, version 0.5
igraph is a package for graphs and networks. It has a C core and
uses a simple and fast graph representation allowing millions
of vertices and edges.
NEW FEATURES:
- We use the ARPACK library for graph related eigenvalue problems,
like Page Rank calculation, Kleinberg's hub and authority scores,
eigenvector centrality, etc. There is also a generic interface

plot - kamada.kawai layout without arrows
Hi,
I am plotting a graph with kamada.kawai layout.
But I am getting direction arrows in the graphs.
Please let me know how to avoid this.
g <- watts.strogatz.game(1, 2000, 5, 0.4)
comps <- clusters(g)$membership
colbar <- rainbow(max(comps)+1)
V(g)$color <- colbar[comps+1]
png(filename)
plot(g, layout=layout.kamada.kawai, vertex.size=2, vertex.label=NA)
dev.off()

Modify the vertex label
Dear r-help,
I create a graph of my baysian network. I use the package igraph. The names
of vertex are within the circle, I would leave them outside the circle?
> E(g)$color <- "black"
> tkplot(g, ,vertex.label=names,layout=layout.kamada.kawai,
edge.color=E(g)$color)

Plotting network without overlapping vertices
Hello,
I am using the plot.igraph function in the igraph package to plot a network.
How do I keep vertices from overlapping? One option would be to pass an
argument that restricts vertices to occupy the same coordinates given their
size. A second option would be to increase the area of the plot (and
multiply the distance between vertices with a constant) while keeping the
size of vertices the

layout of igraph
Dear R users,
I am trying to draw a network using igraph package. I intend to place the
hub nodes (the ones with the relatively more connection with other nodes) in
the center of the graph. Also, the graph need to be in the fashion that the
higher the correlation between two nodes is , the closer the two nodes will
be. Is there any layout that can help or any other way to do this?
Thanks in

igraph and tkgraph
I have a number of (directed) graphs based on social groups, where the
members have expresed likes and dislikes in respect to the other
members. tkgraph makes it simple to draw the graphs in a very pleasing
way, but I would like to differentiate between positive and negative
relations in the graph by having the edges for the negative relations
dashed and the positive ones continuous.

error in installing igraph
Hi R users,
I got warning messages when installing the package, and I pasted the
messages below. I checked updates that my R-studio is already the newest
version. I don't know how to solve the problem. Thanks for your help.

loading igraph package on Solaris
Hello,
I'm having trouble getting the igraph package to load on Solaris. I
can get igraph to compile and install from a local directory without
issues using simply "R CMD INSTALL igraph", however "library(igraph)"
from within R gives the following errors:
Error in dyn.load(x, as.logical(local), as.logical(now)) :

Cannot install igraph package
Hello,
Could you please test the solution at

Trouble compiling igraph. . .
Been and R-user for about 5 years now in an industrial setting, and
always find the mailing list most helpful. I have run into problem
compiling igraph on R. I have contacted the maintainer of igraph, and
he has determined that it is not an igraph problem.
System is FreeBSD 7.2, R-2.10.1 [also have a sandbox machine running
FreeBSD 7.3, R-2.11]. Both machines fail the installation of igraph.

igraph 0.6 released
Dear All,
we have released version 0.6 of the igraph package today. This is a
major new version, with a lot of new features, and (sadly) it is not
completely compatible with code that was written for the previous
igraph versions. (See "Major new features" below for details.)
I have included below a list of (bigger) changes. Please see the
details in the release notes and the NEWS

R and igraph problems
I have R 2.15.0 running under Windows 7. I installed the igraph 0.5.4 package from a zip file. When I attempt to load igraph using "library(igraph)", I get the error package igraph is not installed for arch=x64. When I repeat this using the 32-bit version of R, I get the same basic error but with "arch=i386" instead of x64.

Performance of graph and igraph package
Dear R users,
I'm using graph library to create a mesh-like network topology and
implement a load balance routing algorithm. The current implementation
uses graph, RBGL, and Rgraphviz libraries. I have a few attributes on
every edge to represent the network loading and capacity, and I
frequently update these values. However, I found it works so slow and
right now I'm consider rewriting it
