Problem about plotting the correlation coefficients
Hi,
I am writing a program to plot the correlation coefficients of 45 elements
using the commend "plot". Error message "Error in plot.new() : figure
margins too large" appeared. I think it may because there are too many
elements. But I really need to find their correlation coefficients. What can
I do? Thank you.

Generate a serie of new vars that correlate with existingvar
Hello, list
why not add the smart proposal by Greg Snow as a built-in function in
{stats},
just changing the "x234" and "newc" lines to allow for more
distributions to be generated ?
Or do I miss an already existing function to do that ?
Regards. Olivier

Cross-correlation between two time series data
Hi all,
I have two time series data (say x and y). I am interested to
calculate the correlation between them and its confidence interval (or
to test no correlation). Function cor.test(x,y) does the test of no
correlation. But this test probably is wrong because of autocorrelated
data.
ccf() calculates the correlation between two series data. But it does

how to correlate nominal variables?
Dear R-Users,
I need functions to calculate Yule's Y or Cram?rs Index, in order to
correlate variables that are nominally scaled?
Am I wrong? Are such functions existing?
Sincerely,

Correlate bugzilla ID with IDs listed in RPM change logs
Hello,
Is there any way to correlate bugzilla bug IDs with the ones that are
listed in RPM changelogs? For example, I'm pretty sure that bugzilla 14106
<https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14106> is the same bug as
referenced in this RedHat changelog entry

QUERY: correlation between two time series
I am writing on the behalf of a colleague.
She needs to evaluate the correlation between two time series.
How can this be performed through R? (how many types of correlations can be performed and which are the commands to do it?)
thank you for your help and attention

correlating between two vectors of numbers
Hi, R!
Question1:
I am trying to correlate two vectors of numbers (two columns of microarray
signal values) by using the non-parametric Spearman's rank correlation
coefficient rho:
> cor.test(V2.Signal,V3.Signal,method="spearman")
but I get the error message:
Error in if (q > (n^3 - n)/6) pspearman(q - 1, n, lower.tail = FALSE) else
pspearman(q, :

CCF of two time series pre-whitened using ARIMA
Hi all,
I have two time series that I would like to correlate but as they are
autocorrelated, I am "pre-whitening" them first by fitting ARIMA models,
then correlating their residuals....as described in
https://onlinecourses.science.psu.edu/stat510/?q=node/75
However, http://www.stat.pitt.edu/stoffer/tsa2/Rissues.htm discusses some
issues with ARIMA in R. In particular, for issue 2, if

correlate vector & report p-value
Dear all,
I've been struggling with this through this weekend, I finally decided to ask
help from you. Please let me know if there is effective way to deal with this
problem. Thanks!
Here is the problem:
I have two matrices.
Matrix A:
a b c

3 2 1
4 5 6
Matrix B:
d e f g h
3 4 5 2 1
2 3 7 8 6
8 5 1 3 4
I would like to correlate vector a of matrix A with with vectors d,e,f,g,h of

I have two time series (upwelling index and water temperature) of evenly
spaced, daily data over 18 months, but the upwelling index series has a gap
of about 2 months right in the middle of it. I want to do the acf, pacf,

Is there a way to correlate operation to machine instruction?
For example, given a multiclass for ADD 32 bit that might produce something
like:
ADD32_REG_REG_REG (operands are all registers for a 32 bit add)
ADD32_REG_IMM_REG (srcA is a register, srcB is an immediate and dst is a
register)
ADD32_REG_IMM_MEM (srcA is a register, srcB is an immediate and dst is a
memory address)
What I'd like to do is replace an operand, for example, change srcA from a

[LLVMdev] How to correlate LLVA with native ISA
Hi,
How to correlate the LLVM IR-leve instructions and memory values
with the machine instructions and memory locations?
For example, if CMP instruction in machine ISA is selected for the ICMP
instruction in LLVA,
with the Instruction datastructure for ICMP, is it possible to get the
memory address of CMP instruction? Assume that the code segment base address
is given.
Similarly, by

[LLVMdev] How to correlate LLVA with native ISA
Thank your for reply.
The reason why these information are needed is that I am trying to extract
the program signature (e.g., control flow) out side of the binary.
Conventional compiler technique adds extra checking code into the target
source or target IR in an invasive manner. Since code generator combines the
added code with the original one, they don't need to correlate these two

Can you tell us what goal you are trying to accomplish that requires you
to do this? There might be better ways of doing what you want.
The answer to your question probably depends on whether you're trying to

Correlating different sets of variables?
This is a fairly entry level question - so any guidance on this would be
appreciated...
I have two sets of residuals, one of 100 values (A), and one of 10,000
values (B). There are 50 paired sets of these values. The data is in the
form of two matrices (100x50 and 10,000x50).
The goal is to correlate the residuals from A and B, to identify a those B
values that go up when a single A value goes

correlating irregular time series
I have some time stamped events that are supposed to be unrelated.
I have plotted them and that assumption does not appear to be valid.
http://metrak.com/tmp/sevents.png is a plot showing three sets of events
over time. For the purpose of this exercise, the Y value is irrelevant.
The series are not sampled at the same time and are not equispaced
(just events in a log file).
The plot is

Help with correlation matrices, thresholding
Hello, I am new to R and have a problem I have had some trouble with.
Basically I have a list of some 80000 genes or so with data points for
expression levels at various time points/conditions. I also have subsets of
these, usually only a few hundred genes in size, known to be associated with
some biological process.
What I want to do is correlate the entire list with my subset and then

In need of help with correlations
I am in need of someone's help in correlating gene expression. I'm somewhat
new to R, and can't seem to find anyone local to help me with what I think
is a simple problem.
I need to obtain pearson and spearman correlation coefficients, and
corresponding p-values for all of the genes in my dataset that correlate to
one specific gene of interest. I'm working with mouse Affymetrix

Time series data with dropouts/gaps
I have time-series data from a pair of inexpensive self-logging 3-axis accelerometers (http://www.gcdataconcepts.com/xlr8r-1.html). Since I'm not sure of the vibration/shock spectrum I'm measuring, for my initial sensor characterization run the units were mounted together with the sample rate set to the maximum of 640 samples/sec.
Unfortunately, at this sample rate there are significant

correlation
What test do I use to determine if there is a correlation between a
discrete variable and a continuous variable?
For example - I have water quality ratings for streams (excellent,
good, fair, poor) and a corresponding nitrogen concentration for each
rating. I want to know if the the ratings correlate with the
concentration of nitrogen in the stream.
Help?
