embedding R?
My apologies if this is a FAQ, I searched the mailing list archives before posting. Background: I am a long time user of SPlus, and a recent user of R. My work normally involves converting the raw output of something interesting into data to be analyzed in S/R, for which I use Perl extensively. I then import the data into S/R, perform the analyses I need, dumping the values into a new file,

CGI and RSPerl
Hi, Does anybody try to write CGI script using RSPerl package ? I am interested in RWeb but that doesn't really do what I want. In fact I would like the user to load the file to analyze; then a R program will treat the data ,display resulting graphs and save results in text files. I have test the following script by John Barnett without success. #!/usr/lib/R/bin/R.bin --source

RSPerl & OS X
Hi, I'm wanting to call R from Perl via the RSPerl package. However I cannot seem to install it on my Macbook (OS X Tiger - R 2.6 - Perl 5.8.6). I try to install the source downloaded from the sigmahat website - but it seems to fail - when I search my system for R.pm - I can't find it? Something looks to be going wrong with the make bits? Cheers David M ---- $ R CMD INSTALL

Hello, Can someone tell me the best way to make a system call (from within my model) that runs for a while and requires params form my model, specifically attributes of my model. R-2.01 and RSPerl-0.6.2
Hi, I am somewhat new to R and RSPerl, but I think this particular problem has to do with RSPerl and so I am not sure if this is the right forum to ask for help. Nevertheless I am quite sure that many of you would have used RSPerl with R. My hardware platform is a Sun/Solaris V440 server running Solaris 9 operating system I use the gcc-3.4.0 compiler to compile R without any problems. My

Maps package, coloration
I am having some trouble getting the colors correct on county maps using the maps package. I have a data.frame that contains coloration data for every county -- it also contains a variable 'mapm' which fits the 'state, county' format used in the mapping package. I use this to define colors from a range of 1:100. The problem is that the colors seem good for some states/counties,

R and Web Applications
Hello, I'm curious to know how people are calling R from web applications (I've been looking for Perl but I'm open to other languages). After doing a search, I came across the R package "RSPerl", but I'm having difficulties getting it installed (on Mac OSX). I believe the problem probably has to do with changes in R since the package release. Below you will see where

gnls
Doug, I have been attempting to learn a little bit about nlme without too much documentation except the online help. The Latex file in the nlme directory looks interesting but uses packages that I do not have so that I have not been able to read it. I have run the example from gnls to compare it with the results I get from my libraries (code below - I have not included output as it is rather

Dear R-helpers, I am running well Perl and R on my Debian Linux, and I tried RSPerl. Installation is ok and all simple functions run well. But I have a problem to call the "lines" function. calling R from Perl
Hi, I want to call R from Perl to generate plots to be displayed on a webpage. What I found out so far is that there is a package called RSPerl on www.omegahat.org which should do what I need. However in the description it says it has been tested with R 1.3.* the latest. I'm using R 1.8.0 right now so the package seems rather unmaintained. It is not easy for me to just install it and see
