FSD sequence not working on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
Hi,
I have recently installed NUT 2.7.3.1 on a freshly installed Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
(64-bit) system, connected via USB cable to APC Smart-UPS 1500 (SMT model). I
am trying to make this configuration work for automatic shutdown/restart but it
seems that it completely ignores /etc/killpower presence. I know the APC SMT
models are problematic but it looks like I could not even make the simplest

Comparing two groups of proportions
Hi,
I have a seemingly common problem but I can't find a proper way to approach
it. Let's say we have 5 samples (different size) of IC circuits coming from 5
production lines (A, B, C, D, E). We apply two different non-destructive QA
procedures to each sample, producing to sets of binary outcomes (passed:
no/yes). So, we have two groups of proportions:
QA1 QA2
no/yes no/yes

Problems building R 2.2.1 with libgoto and SSE2 enabled
Hi,
I am trying to build R 2.2.1 with Kazushige Goto's BLAS library (libgoto) and
encountered a problem: I have two computers with the almost identical
hardware (P4 Northwood CPU, i875 chipset, 2GB DDR400 RAM) and identical Linux
OS. I have the latest version of libgoto for this CPU installed on both boxes
(libgoto_northwood32p-r1.00.so) and I am using gcc compiler flags "-O2

MGE ellipse 1200 config and documentation
Hi,
I have recently purchased MGE ellipse 1200 UPS for my home system. Obviously,
the choice of this particular brand was mainly dictated by MGE's
long-standing support for Linux and NUT project. The fact that the box was
clearly the prettiest looking one on the block did help also ;-). I have had
NUT tools installed and configured in no time, as I did it numerous times
before -- kudos

Trouble building R 2.9.2 under solaris 10
I've been trying to compile 2.9.2 under solaris 10 the last couple days without success. configure runs fine and I'm using GNU Make. We're trying to build under 64 bit (and I'm wondering if this might be part of our problem). Here is the output from the make...

R enterprise for linux
Dear all,
I would like to ask you if it would be possible to install R enterprise in opensuse.
Actually it seems that there are only Red Hat packages and I was wondering if their source code is available so one to try and compile it.
I would like to thank you in advance for your reply

How to speed up R with version 2.9.2?
Dear All,
I'm sorry if my question does not suit with this R group.
I have recently installed?R software with version 2.9.2, but i found the program took almost 1 minute as soon as it was opened, before it can be used. However,?the previous version 2.9.1 only take few seconds?after the menu bar was clicked. This circumstance has caused me to wait for couple of minutes as several R windows

64-bit OSX binary for 2.9.2
dear R wizards: I am looking for a binary package distribution of R 2.9.2
for OSX . Looking at http://r.research.att.com/ , there seems to be only a
binary for 2.9.0 . is the 2.9.2 version binary package available
somewhere? (at this point, would it make sense to elevate the 64-bit
version to a "standard recommended" rather than just a "boutique" version?)
sincerely, /iaw

I've had errors such as vector size too large.

Hmisc xYplot won't do conditioning on factors?
Hi,
I am trying to replace (lattice) standard xyplot with xYplot variant from
Hmisc package to be able to add error bars to my plots. However, this does
not work, e.g:
library(lattice)
d <- data.frame(
SKU=gl(3, 1, 21, labels=c("a", "b", "c")),
Weekday=gl(7, 3, 21),
QCRate=runif(21))
xyplot(QCRate ~ Weekday | SKU, data=d)

R 2.9.2 crashes when sorting latin1-encoded strings
Hi everyone!
I think I stumbled over a bug in the latest R 2.9.2 patched for OS X:
> R version 2.9.2 Patched (2009-09-24 r49861)
> i386-apple-darwin9.8.0
When I try to sort latin1-encoded character vectors, R sometimes
crashes with a segmentation fault. I'm running OS X 10.5.8 and have
observed this behaviour both with the i386 and x86_64 builds, in the
R.app GUI as well as on

Problem with R.2.9.2 Plot functions
Hello,
Last week I installed ver 2.9.1 and it worked fine. This morning I have
been working on some simple schemes,
plot(PropHatchedNests$Phatched, PropHatchedNests$MEAN)
abline(lm(PropHatchedNests$Phatched, PropHatchedNests$MEAN))
This oddly produces a box and whiskers plot.
I uninstalled 2.9.1 and installed 2.9.2 and ran the same commands. Same
output.
Is anyone else experiencing this

amd64 packages for ubuntu hardy version mismatch?
Hi,
Trying to do a fresh install of R 2.7.2 packages on an AMD64 server
running Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 and have run into some problems - version of
r-base-core for AMD64 appears to not match version of other packages
including r-base and r-recommended and so install fails. The deb
packages for r-base-core_2.7.2-1hardy1_amd64 don't appear to have been
built yet. Guessing this is an AMD64
