Combining simulated data
R helpers
Please help me combine the simulated data to a form of table where: Hypermarket have 10 rows, supermarket have 15 rows,......., spazashops with 35 rows.

Supermarket <- rnorm(15, mean=12000, sd=4000)
Minimarket <- rnorm(20, mean=10000, sd=4000)

Updatable "datagrid" with ajax support? Is there any code/approach I can leverage?
Hi,
I want to have a page in my Ruby on Rails application that is like a
dynamic / updateable data grid. Like a matrix or spreadsheet segment
(x rows, y columns) which one can click in any of the cells and make
an update, which triggers some AJAX code to fire off the update, and
then the responses come back and update whatever else needs updating
based on this change.
Is there a prototype

Unusual graph- modified wind rose perhaps?
In a OpenOffice.org forum someone was asking if the spreadsheet could graph this http://www.elmundo.es/elmundosalud/documentos/2011/06/leche.html
I didn't think it could. :)
I don't think I've ever seen exactly this layout. Does anyone know if there is anything in R that does a graph like this or that can be adapted to do it.
Unfortunately my Spanish is non-existent so I am not

Highlighint rjs problem on a new product
Hi,
Problem Summary:
I have been trying to add the highlight effect to my table but
everytime a new record is added the highlighting gives an rjs error.
However when i click the add to cart button on a product that already
exists inside the table, the highlight effect works. Is this because
the partial must only have only one <tr></tr> in it and the <table>
must be on the other

Windows DirectDraw?
I just tried to install an ancient detective-type RPG ( I am not up with the
classifications.)
(a) It offered to install DirectX. Since Wine has its own DirectX, I
ignored that.
(b) The game failed to run because (according to the message box) it
couldn't find DirectDraw. This showed as a Fixme in the terminal, while
the error message was to do with the display settings - there was no mode

Apply() on columns
Hi,
I have some trouble with the following: I have a table of 7 rows and
6columns. The columns 1,2,3 have information about the number of employees.
The columns 4,5,6 have information about the number of working hours. Each
row, is corresponding with a week.
My goal is to make a boxplot, histogram etc. of the columns 4, 5 and 6
(thus, the data of the number of working hours). How can I select by

Packet2Packet bridging occurring when not wanted
Hi,
I have Asterisk set up on Fedora with a single SIP trunk, with a few
handsets configured. The Asterisk box has both public and private
addressing, so "canreinvite=no" is set on both the SIP trunk and handset
configurations so I can get around the nasty NAT issues.
One odd behaviour I am seeing is certain destinations are resulting in
different SIP codes being sent back to Asterisk,

It''s still in active development, and I''d very much appreciate

SRS, Stratified, and Cluster sampling
Hi,
Has anyone done (or know of) any nice R activities that help introductory
students ( and teachers :) ) better understand the concepts of simple vs
stratified vs cluster sampling?
Any links?

Eaton 5PX 3rd party batteries
Hello,
nut recently told me that the batteries need replacing in my Eaton 5PX2200RT (ups) and 5PXEBM48RT (external battery pack). According to my notes, it has been just over 4 years since I installed them. Looking at on-line sales, these seem to use batteries in a pre-packaged plastic shell. I don't recall if that's what's in my units or not.
Do you have any experience with
