Fw: Re: Simulating data (stupid question)
Dear All
I know that you do not have to help me (as this is not a pure R problem) but please do, i am new to R as a CPI compiler, i just need to do a sample to see which sampling method best works in different situations, therefore since this is for practice purposes nobody will finance a real project thats why i need you to help me direct me as to how simulate data (just direct me,not 100%

Dynamic HID driver mappings, Tripplite-hid.c
I think I'm going to have the slightly rejigger the tripplite-hid.c
driver to 'properly' support all of the data I know about it's
outlets.
A given UPS may have 'n' output loads. I could have 5, I could have
10, I won't know until I actually ask the UPS. But in order to use
the hid to nut struct, I'm actually going to have to modify that
struct dynamically, or

MGE Evolution and programmable outlets configuration
Hi,
I'm a MGE Evolution 650 owner and, after putting in place a basic
configuration for controlling my UPS, I'm going to tune a little bit
better NUT for my needs.
First of all let me describe my little (SOHO) scenario: I have the ISP
modem/switch (providing VoIP too, so it's important to keep it running
as much as possible), a small low power home server and a much hungrier
PC.

Tripp-Lite SMART1500LCD: powers off with /etc/killpower...then powers back on...
Hi Everyone,
I recently bought a Tripp-Lite SMART1500LCD for my Linux Mint 19.3 machine,
connected via a USB cable. I installed Nut 2.7.4 from the Mint package
repository via sudo apt update && sudo apt install nut. Everything works
great: NUT issues low battery warning when it reaches the set low
battery point and then issues shutdown commands...computer shuts
down..then the UPS shuts

recording current_user
Hi,
Another noob here I am afraid! I have a questuin about the current_user
method that comes with AAA.
I have AAA set up and working fine and if i put <%=
self.current_user.login %> into a view it shows the login name as
expected on the page.
What I cant work out is how to record this into the database when the
user completes a form.
My app so far only has two models.

RailsConf vs. My MacBook's Battery. ( Power Outlet Availability )
So my Macbook''s battery sucks... and I''m thinking of grabbing a new
one, I''m curious how the availability of power outlets have been at
RailsConfs. For those who have gone before, was it hard to find an
outlet to plug into? Are they mindful of this?
I hope so.
Thanks in advance.

ups does not reboot itself
hello,
i have a computer (with debian 8 jessie installed) that i want to plug
to an ups (apc smt 750i) to act in netserver mode. i've installed nut
packages and configured it and all seems to work ok except that when the
server shutdown itself it ups doesn't "reboot" the outlets.
i've tested the same config (/etc/nut/*) just changing hostnames in
another debian jessie

MGE Pulsar Extreme - restart problem
Hello,
looking for replacements for some older Powerware equipment I found the MGE
Pulsar Extreme 1000C and I'm currently testing one with nut-2.0.3 on a
self-brewn i386-linux.
Upto now everything seems to work fine - except I can't get the power outlets
switching on again after mains returns. As this works with Personal
Solution-Pac 2 on W2k I thought that there might be a way to

Q about UPS features / NUT support
Hi,
I have several Linux machines at home and I'm considering buying a UPS
for them. I see that many models are supported by NUT (great!) but since
I'm new to the UPS world I have some questions about UPS features and
NUT support of them I couldn't find an answer for:
1/ are there UPS models who report/meter power usage through USB? per
UPS socket or globally?
2/ are there UPS models

Controlling Outlets on UPS
I have a Tripp Lite UPS and I have a configuration switch on one load and
the PC plugged into the other load of the UPS is there any way to control
the outlets of the UPS using NUT to allow the load the Switch is one to
turn on before the PC load? I keep playing around with cloner drivers but
they don't seem to be registering in the UPS

Setting MGE powershare attributes
Hi!
We have two MGE Evolution 1100 here, and I want to make use of the
powershare outlets to force a particular boot sequence on the machines
powered by them. However I'm not sure how to set those variables upon
NUT starting, without having to change the init scripts to call
"upsrw".
Is there some place where I can set them, where they can be read
automatically on startup?

CyberPower BR850ELCD ignores offdelay and turns itself back on while still on battery
Hi there,
I just purchased a CyberPower BR850ELCD and while setting NUT up with
the install instructions from the homepage was pretty straightforward,
and the UPS was detected by the usbhid-ups driver, I'm having problems
getting the UPS to work properly.
First issue: whatever I set as the offdelay, seems to be ignored and the
UPS just cuts the power about 2sec after receiving the

Anyone know of any good retail or online outlets to but Linux

Thanks for your advice...

OPTI-UPS PS (PowerSeries)
Hello,
Some time ago i bought 2 OPTI UPS devices, but was
really sad to see the page about the OPTI protocol on
the nut page.
But i don't wanted to give up :)
So i sniffed the serial communication using the windows
application/driver and found out that these PS (PowerSeries)
devices are different than the ES series mentioned on the Nut page.
They use some kind of ASCII protocol,

not sure how GFI would function at all without a valid ground, unless
the GFI is wired to neutral, which is dangerous on its own.
you might get a 3-prong-to-2-prong adapter and plug the PC into that,
leaving the ground

MGE ellipse 1200 config and documentation
Hi,
I have recently purchased MGE ellipse 1200 UPS for my home system. Obviously,
the choice of this particular brand was mainly dictated by MGE's
long-standing support for Linux and NUT project. The fact that the box was
clearly the prettiest looking one on the block did help also ;-). I have had
NUT tools installed and configured in no time, as I did it numerous times
before -- kudos

I have an Eaton Ellipse Eco 1600 bought in 2016 which has a delayed start
feature.
