Rpy not working after upgrade to R2.9.1
Hi,
I'm running Ubuntu Jaunty, downloading R and Rpy from this repository:
deb http://cran.uk.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu jaunty/
When was automatically upgraded, Rpy (which should be downloaded from
the same repository) seems to have stopped working. I've tried
re-installing the python-rpy package manually. I get the following
error when I try to import rpy:

build.pl in building library with Rtools211
Dear all,
As I couldn't find any thread on the internet I hope the help-list might help me out.
I've tried to update Rtools from R210 used in combination with R2.9.1 to R211 in combination with R2.11.1. However, I do not succeed.
I have R2.11.1 running, as well as Inno Setup 5, HTML help and MikTex. A version of Perl is installed too. Environment variable paths are set to link to these

lpia non-architecture you told me about).
Anyway, some of the graphics functions/parameters are

Competing Risks Regression with qualitative predictor with more than 2 categories
Hello,
I have a question regarding competing risk regression using cmprsk package (function crr()). I am using R2.9.1. How can I do to assess the effect of qualitative predictor (gg) with more than two categories (a,b,c) categorie c is the reference category. See above results, gg is considered like a ordered predictor !
Thank you for your help

The time series analysis functions/packages don't seem to like my data
I have hundreds of megabytes of price data time series, and perl
scripts that extract it to tab delimited files (I have C++ programs
that must analyse this data too, so I get Perl to extract it rather
than have multiple connections to the DB).
I can read the data into an R object without any problems.
thedata = read.csv("K:\\Work\\SignalTest\\BP.csv", sep = "\t", header

Length as fun.aggregate in cast function of reshape package: unexpected error
Dear Everyone,
I am having problems with use of the reshape package's cast function using length as an aggregating function.
Unexpectedly, I receive the error: 2 arguments passed to 'length' which requires 1
I don't understand this at all - the data I'm using is very simple, and appears almost identical to that used in the
ChickWeight example in the package. The problem can

FastCGI performing better than Mongrel - what am I doing wrong?
I tried benchmarking the same site behind an NGINX proxy with both
fastcgi and mongrel, and for some reason mongrel is performing pretty
poorly in comparison.
Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

Diagnostic testing in a VEC
Hi everyone,
I'm using the Johansen framework to determine a VEC using package urca. I
have estimated the corresponding VEC using likelihood ratio test for
restrictions on alpha, beta or both and I have generated objects of the
class cajo.test. Now I want to diagnostic tests in the model,
like heteroskedasticity test, residuals normality and serial
autocorrelation, but I cannot find the way

failed connect from HP L7680 digital filing
I'm trying to get my HP Office Jet Pro L7680 All-in-one to reliably scan
to one of my shared folders using the machine's digital filing
capability. 98 times out of 100, when I try to scan, the AIO
immediately reports "Cannot connect to \\192.168.254.4\public\scan. Make
sure the computer is turned on." The other 2 attempts, it works

[storage-discuss] high read iops - more memory for arc?
Pre-fletching on the file and device level has been disabled yielding good results so far. We''ve lowered the number of concurrent ios from 35 to 1 causing the service times to go even lower (1 -> 8ms) but inflating actv (.4 -> 2ms).
I''ve followed your recommendation in setting primarycache to metadata. I''ll have to check with our tester in the morning if it made

high read iops - more memory for arc?
I''m running into a issue where there seems to be a high number of read iops hitting disks and physical free memory is fluctuating between 200MB -> 450MB out of 16GB total. We have the l2arc configured on a 32GB Intel X25-E ssd and slog on another32GB X25-E ssd.
According to our tester, Oracle writes are extremely slow (high latency).
Below is a snippet of iostat:
