how to rbind matrices from different loops
Dear R experts, I am having difficulty using loops productively and would like to please ask for advice. I have a dataframe of ids and groups. I would like to break down the dataframe into groups, find the unique sets of ids, then reassemble. My thought was to use a loop, but I have been unable to finish this loop in a logical way. I would like to find the unique ids for group 1, group 2,

hi all.regarding quantile regression results..
i know this is not about R. After applying quantile regression with t=0.5,0.6 on the data set WBC( Wisconsin Breast Cancer)with 678 observations and 9 independent variables(inp1,inp2,...inp9) and 1 dependent variable(op) i have got the following results for beta values. when t=0.5(median regression) beta values b1=0.002641,b2=0.045746,b3=0.

retrieve machine password in current Samba?
We have a wireless network that uses 802.1x authentication, in which domain joined computers use their machine credentials to connect. Windows machines do this automatically, and until recently Linux computers could join using wicd, wpa-supplicant, and a simple script that would retrieve the machine password with tdbdump. ( specifically tdbdump -k SECRETS/MACHINE_PASSWORD/DOMAIN

zero random effect sizes with binomial lmer
I am fitting models to the responses to a questionnaire that has seven yes/no questions (Item). For each combination of Subject and Item, the variable Response is coded as 0 or 1. I want to include random effects for both Subject and Item. While I understand that the datasets are fairly small, and there are a lot of invariant subjects, I do not understand something that is happening

xyplot squeezed together
Hi, I created the following example of a xyplot. The plot actually looks ok apart from that the x-axis is pretty squeezed/clinched. I tried aspect="fill" already but I want to have all 3 sub plots next to each other. I tried loads of different scaling varieties but with no significant result... library(lattice) N <- 6 d <-

SSL configuration
Hello subscribers, I have a very strange question regarding SSL setup on gluster storage. I have create a common CA and sign certificate for my gluster nodes, placed host certificate, key and common CA certificate into /etc/ssl/, create a file called secure-access into /var/lib/glusterd/ Then, I start glusterd on all nodes, system work fine, I see with peer status all of my nodes. No problem.

finding the minimum value
Hi all, I'm using a certain  procedure to calculate the value of some variable(Bayes risk),B. So I got the values B1, B2, ........, B1000, each under certain input values and using a long procedure. Now, I want to put the values I got in a nummerical vector and find their minimum value. I think c( ) should work. For example if I have only 10 values I could have used

restricted coefficient and factor in linear regression.
Hi, my data set is data.frame(id, yr, y, l, e, k). I would like to estimate Lee and Schmidts (1993, OUP) model in R. My colleague wrote SAS code as follows: ** procedures for creating dummy variables are omitted ** ** di# and dt# are dummy variables for industry and time ** data a2; merge a1 a2 a; by id yr; proc sysnlin maxit=100 outest=beta2; endogenous y; exogenous l e k

prediction problem
Hello, I am using the mda package and in particular the fda routine to classify/predict in terms of color to a set of 20 samples for which i don?t know the color. I preformed a flexible discriminant analysis (FDA) using a set of 147 samples for which i know all the information. My script and data follow in attachment. A total of 23 predictors were considered. 20 of the predictors are

3.0.1rc2 LDAP - problems joining domain
Hi, I'm back on the list ;-) I seem to be having some trouble getting W2K machines to join the domain in 3.0.1rc2. I haven't looked at this in detail since 2.2.8a but it looks like the account gets created in LDAP and then it has trouble setting the password appropriately. I believe this is the relevant part of the log: api_rpcTNP: samr op 0x3a - api_rpcTNP: rpc command:

Confirmatory factor analysis problems using sem package (works in Amos)
Hello all, I'm trying to replicate a confirmatory factor analysis done in Amos. The idea is to compare a one-factor and a two-factor model. I get the following warning message when I run either model: "Could not compute QR decomposition of Hessian. Optimization probably did not converge." I have no idea what to do here. I believe posters reported the same problem. It seems

Split plot analysis problems
Hello, I would be very grateful if someone could give me a hand with my split plot design problems. So here is my design : I am studying the crossed-effects of water (wet/dry) and mowing (mowed/not-mowed = nm) on plant height (PH) within 2 types of plant communities (Xerobromion and Mesobromion) : - Within each type of communities, I have localised 4 blocks - In each block, I have defined

bootstrap confidence intervals, non iid
hello, i need to calculate ci's for each of 4 groups within a dataset, to be able to infere about differences in the variable "similarity". the problem is that data within groups is dependent, as assigned by the blocking-factor "site". my guess was to use a block bootstrap but samples within in these blocks / sites are not of same length. i was not able to find a method to

glmer with non integer weights
hello, i'd appreciate help with my glmer. i have a dependent which is an index (MH.index) ranging from 0-1. this index can also be considered as a propability. as i have a fixed factor (stage) and a nested random factor (site) i tried to model with glmer. i read that it's possible to use a quasibinomial distribution, for this kind of data, which i than actually did - but firstly (1)

My experience using -DLLVM_BUILD_INSTRUMENTED_COVERAGE to generate coverage
With llc, the size of the names section can vary widely depending on the value of -DLLVM_TARGETS_TO_BUILD. Enabling coverage shouldn't increase the name section size much. I only see one place where this happens, and it's relatively cold: http://lab.llvm.org:8080/coverage/coverage-reports/llvm/coverage/Users/buildslave/jenkins/sharedspace/clang-stage2-coverage-R at
