remove_index missed quote_table_name
in lib/active_record/connection_adapters/abstract/schema_statements.rb
there is a missing quote_table_name in line 286 (def remove_index):
execute "DROP INDEX #{quote_column_name(index_name(table_name,
options))} ON #{table_name}"
so my "keys" table can get an index with "add_index" but can''t remove
it (without tweaking)
replacing it to

Migrations with multi-column indexes
Hey Folks,
I can''t really glean this from the documentation.
Is there a way to do: add_index(table_name, column_name, index_type)
within my migration for an index that spans multiple columns? Ie: A
covering index on FIRST_NAME, LAST_NAME or something like that?
Best,
Brian

Multi-databases support
Hi,
While I was hacking ovirt-server, I have found that it's currently
restricted to Postgres DB. Even if I like postgres for serious work on a
server, I really prefer to hack/dev locally on a Sqlite or MySQL DB.
I have googled on rails in order to find a good answer for the "foreign
key problem" which forces OVirt to stay on pg. I have found a plugin on

Backticks wrapping SQL values in polymorphic associations...
Hopefully the subject line didn''t scare you. That said...
I have a simple polymorphic relationship (is that possible?):
class Part
has_many :attachments, :as => :attachable
end
class Attachment
belongs_to :attachable, :polymorphic => true
end
Calling Part.find(:first).attachments yields this SQL error:

[LLVMdev] BNF for IL/IR interpreter
This might be a very beginner question, but I'm looking for an example for
something that I have never done.
Suppose that I wanted to express actions with respect to lifted semantics
of CPU instructions to an intermediate representation, BAP IL or LLVM IR.
How might I go about providing a Backus Naur Form specification and then
dynamically interpreting those lifted instructions by also

Change primary_key column name
Hi,
after changing a primary key column name, the auto-increment information
(MySQL) and sequence (Oracle) are lost. What is the correct way to rename
primary keys?
Thanks,
Gustavo

Scenarios Plugin Pre-Announcement
This is sort of a pre-announcement for a Rails plugin my friend Adam
Williams and I are working on. We''re in the process of extracting it
from a project we are working on so that it can be generally useful to
the Rails community. We are calling it "Scenarios". It is a drop in
replacement for Rails fixtures:

Testing the flash.now
What''s the best way to test the flash when you use flash#now ? For
example, if I set the flash in my controller:
flash.now[:notice] = ''This will only show up on this action.''
How do I test it? Normally I would do:
assert_equal ''This will only show up on this action.'', flash[:notice]
But this doesn''t seem to work with flash.now.

Radius 0.0.1 -- Powerful Tag-Based Templates
I am pleased to announce the immediate release of Radius 0.5.0.
Radius is a small, but powerful tag-based template language for Ruby
inspired by the template languages used in MovableType
<www.movabletype.org> and TextPattern <www.textpattern.com>. It uses
tags similar to XML, but can be used to generate any form of plain text
(HTML, e-mail, etc...).
This release is much more feature

a few add_index questions..
on previous apps i hadn''t really worried much about adding foreign key
indexes on my tables just because they''ve been fairly small and i
didn''t really think i needed them.
well, i''m working on something now that has the potential to have a
lot more data, and a lot more foreign keys.
so i have 3 tables... users, projects, and tasks.. should i be using

backticks
I noticed just now that
package.skeleton() produces R files in which
the function names are escaped with backticks.
?Quotes says that "The preferred quote is the backtick (`)",
but I don't understand _why_ this is preferred.
?formula gives some clues but points out that there
are no guarantees that formulae using non-syntactic names such as
`like this` will be accepted.

prompt () and backticks for default arguments
Dear all,
I just noticed, that prompt () looses backticks that protect default arguments:
f <- function (FUN = `*`) {}
cat (prompt (f, NA)$usage)
yields:
\usage{ f(FUN = *) } %- maybe also 'usage' for other objects documented here.
without the backticks, which is of course found by R CMD check as syntax error.
While this is easily fixed if the .Rd is further edited manually, I

Pulling a variable from a shell script into Asterisk - backticks?

Is anyone still using backticks on 1.4? Or is there another way to pull a
variable from a shell script into Asterisk 1.4?
