does multinomial logistic model from multinom (nnet) has logLik?
I want to get the logLik to calculate McFadden.R2 ,ML.R2 and
Cragg.Uhler.R2, but the value from multinom does not have logLik.So my
quetion is : is logLik meaningful to multinomial logistic model from
multinom?If it does, how can I get it?
Thank you!
ps: I konw VGAM has function to get the multinomial logistic model
with logLik, but I prefer use the function from "official" R

Multinomial Logit Regression
Hi all,
I have a dataset with a response variable with three categories (1, 2, 3)
and a lot of continuous variables. I'd like to make a MLR with these
variables. I've been watching the libraries nnet and zelig for this purpose
but I don't understand them well.
I use a training sample data to make the MLR.
train.set <- sample(1:1000,1000*0.7)
I have done this:

multinom() and multinomial() interpretation
Hello and thanks in advance for any advice.
I am not clear how, in practice, the multinom() function in nnet and the
multinomial() function in VGAM differ in terms of interpretation. I
understand that they are fit differently. Are there certain scenarios where
one is more appropriate than the other? In my case I have a dependent
variable with 4 categories and 1 binary and 4 continuous

multinomial logit model
Dear R users,
I would like to know if there is a package in R
that estimates multinomial logit models (without
using surrogate Poisson models)
-or even better- nested multinomial logit models?
I am using the Windows version of R (Windows 95).
To my understanding, the S package called nnet
does that, but it seems not to work in R.
Thanking in advance for any help,

Multinomial Nested Logit package in R?
Dear R-Help,
I'm hoping to find a Multinomial Nested Logit package in R. It would
be great to find something analogous to "PROC MDC" in SAS:
> The MDC (Multinomial Discrete Choice) procedure analyzes models
> where the
> choice set consists of multiple alternatives. This procedure
> supports conditional logit,
> mixed logit, heteroscedastic extreme value,

formatting data to be analysed using multinomial logistic regression (nnet)
I am looking into using the multinomial logistic regression option in the
nnet library and have two questions about formatting the data.
1. Can data be analysed in the following format or does it need to be
transformed into count data, such as the housing data in MASS?

predict multinomial model con nnet
Hola todos
Cuando realizo las predicciones del modelo multinomial con el paquete nnet,
estas cambian cada vez que lo ejecuto ... saben por qué pasa esto ??
Gracias por la ayuda.

Multinomial Logit Models
Hi
I am wanting to fit some multinomial logit models (multinom command in
package nnet)
Is it possible to do any model checking techniques on these models
e.g. residual, leverage etc. I cannot seem to find any commands that
will allow me to do this.
Many thanks

Cumulative multinomial regression using VGAM
Hi,
I am trying to carry out a multinomial regression using the cumlogit link function. I have tried using the VGAM package, and have gotten some results...
fit1 <- vgam(Y ~ X1 + X2 + X3 + X4,
cumulative(link=logit,intercept.apply=FALSE,parallel=TRUE),
data = data1
)
The problem arrises when I try to get the information out of the fitted object. I can

multinomial logit estimation
Good morning,
I'd like to estimate a simple multinomial logit model in R (not a McFadden conditional logit). For instance, I'd like to estimate the probability of someone having one of eight titles in a company with the independent variables being the company characteristics. A binary logit is well documented. What about the multinomial?
Thanks,

Memory problem in multinomial logistic regression
Dear All
I am trying to fit a multinomial logistic regression to a data set with a size of 94279 by 14 entries. The data frame has one "sample" column which is the categorical variable, and the number of different categories is 9. The size of the data set (as a csv file) is less than 10 MB.
I tried to fit a multinomial logistic regression, either using vglm() from the VGAM package or

Different LLRs on multinomial logit models in R and SPSS
Hello, after calculating a multinomial logit regression on my data, I
compared the output to an output retrieved with SPSS 18 (Mac). The
coefficients appear to be the same, but the logLik (and therefore fit)
values differ widely. Why?
The regression in R:
set.seed(1234)
df <- data.frame(
"y"=factor(sample(LETTERS[1:3], 143, repl=T, prob=c(4, 1, 10))),

Multinomial and Ordinal Logistic Regression - Probability calculation
Dear all,
I am new to R and would like to run a multinomial logistic regression on my dataset (3 predictors for 1 dependent variables)
I have used the vglm function from the VGAM package and got some results. Using the predict() function, I obtained the probability table I was looking for. However, I would like to fully understand how the predict() function generates the probabilities or in

multinomial probit
Is there any library for fitting multinomial probit using either likelihood
or the "method of simulated moments" or both.
I presume it would be possible to write a family function in VGAM for the
multinomial probit, but was hoping that someone has done it already.
Thanking you as always.

Multinomial Logit and p-values
Hi,
I am trying to obtain p-values for coefficient estimates in a multinomial
logit model. Although I am able to test for significance using other
methods (e.g., Wald statistics), I can't seem to get R to give me simple
p-values. I am sure there is a very simple solution to this, but the R
archives seem to have nothing on this issue. I would appreciate any help.
Thanks in advance!

multinomial losgitic regression--vglm()
Dear:
I try to analysis multinomial logistic regression using vglm in VGAM package. However, I wonder how many levels of responses variable this command is suitable. I saw the examples in google search works for 3 levels, say 1,2,3. However, my response variable is more than 3 levels. Is it working for my case or have alternative approach?
Many thanks!

multinomial logistic regression
Hi, how can I do multinomial logistic regression in R?
I think glm() can only handle binary response
variable, and polr() can only handle ordinal response
variable. how to do logistic regression with
multinomial response variable?
Thanks

Questing on fitting Baseline category Logit model
Dear all,
I am facing some problem with how to fit a "Baseline category Logit
model" with R. Basically I am considering famous "Alligator" data as
discussed by Agresti. This data can also be found here:
https://onlinecourses.science.psu.edu/stat504/node/174
(there is also an accompanying R file, however the underlying R code
could not load the data properly!!!)

VGAM constraints-related puzzle
Hello R users,
I have a puzzle with the VGAM package, on my first excursion into
generalized additive models, in that this very nice package seems to
want to do either more or less than what I want.
Precisely, I have a 4-component outcome, y, and am fitting multinomial
logistic regression with one predictor x. What I would like to find
out is, is there a single nonlinear function f(x) which acts
