Hello I would like to build R from source and use the PGI compiler, rather than the GCC compiler. I saw the instructions for the Intel compiler in the R Installation Manual, but I didn't see the PGI. If you are writing a new package I don't see why you should restrict yourself to S3 or S4 classes. Your "new package" can certainly build on other packages. (Why not?)
