Question to use R plot GO pie chart
Hi, I have a list of IPI gene IDs. I want to find out whether there is a package which can map the gene ontology to these IPIs, and plot the pie chart to demonstrate the molecular function distributions. The input is like the following gene IPI IDs: IPI:IPI00008860.1|SWISS-PROT:Q9BXJ4-1|TREMBL:Q542Y2|ENSEMBL:ENSP00000231338;EN

rsync: readdir(.): Bad file descriptor (9)
Hi, I've spent the better part of three weeks tracking into this problem. I hope you don't mind a post here on smbfs, but I was hoping someone might have some insight or ideas on where to look next. Summary: trying to rsync folders across an smb mounted share with EXACTLY 50 objects (folder or files), results in the error rsync: readdir(.): Bad file descriptor (9) Details The problem

2SLS / TSLS / SEM non-linear
Dear all, I try to conduct a SEM / two stage least squares regression with the following equations: First: X ~ IV1 + IV2 * Y Second: Y ~ a + b X therein, IV1 and IV2 are the two instruments I would like to use. the structure I would like to maintain as the model is derived from economic theory. My problem here is that I have trouble solving the equations to get the reduced form so I can run

plot several histograms with same y-axes scaling using hist()
Dear all Problem: hist()-function, scale = ?percent? I want to generate histograms for changing underlying data. In order to make them comparable, I want to fix the y-axis (vertical-axis) to, e.g., 0%, 10%, 20%, 30% as well as to fix the spaces, too. So the y-axis in each histogram should be identical. Currently, I have 100 histograms and the y-axis scales changes in each. Here is my code:

I want to use a ram disk as / after network booting.
Hi I am an engineer who is making communication systems. I have a board(made by Kontron ltd, Intel CPU, currently with diskless ) that is used in compactPCI. I boot that board with network PXELINUX method and currently using NFS. But I don't want to use NFS and I want to make and use ram disk image. That means I want to use a ram disk as /. scriptaculous dragdrop.js empty list problem
Hi, I''ve just been having a look at the scriptaculous drag-n-drop library, which looks exceedingly good. I''m running across a show-stopper here, though - something that''s cropping up in both the online demos and my own test scripts. If I set up two lists so that I can drag items between them, then if either list becomes empty, I can''t drag elements back into

multcomp
I used the multcomp package sometime back for doing multiple comparisons. I see that it has been updated and the methods like simint are no longer supported. When I run the program it prompts to me to use glht. How do I get the lower and upper conf int and the pValues using glht? Does anyone have an example? Thanks ../Murli [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

fix for scriptaculous dragdrop.js empty list problem
Hi Thomas, Here''s a fix for the problem that I raised this morning, turned out to be fairly simple in the end (after many false starts and thrashing about - thank goodness for Venkman!) First, in Sortable.create(), I register the parent element (the UL tag or whatever), and add an extra property to it to mark it as the parent of the list in question: for (var i = 0; i <

Speed up code with for() loop

DNS Caching for a satellite link
I'm on a satellite link, and I've got a caching DNS server set up. Several popular sites have very short DNS cache times set in their SOA records, and I'm trying to over-ride them so that our link isn't swamped with DNS queries. Anybody know how to force the DNS cache to hang onto the info longer than the SOA TTL? Yes, I know the arguments against doing this, but in this
