Dear all, Can anybody tell me how to export a 3d figure made with the plot3d function? I'm careless about whether it's still interactive or not in another format, as long I can get it out of R. lines don't wrap. must scroll horizontally to see/edit a long line in R GUI
I'm facing this problem on R GUI version 2.10.0 on Windows Vista. I have not changed Windows settings or R GUI settings much except to change from MDI to SDI. Someone else reported this problem a few months ago: https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-help/2009-April/195714.html but it wasn't followed up. I'd change the settings on Preferences, but there's no help explaining the

Print Page by Page
Hi there, I'm using R1.0.1 Windows 98 version. Sometimes, ok very often, we need to analyse data that will generate a lot of outputs. For example, the function "aov()" will print out lots of outputs on screen. I am just wondering, if it is possible to make these outputs shown page by page instead of throwing everything on screen and I have to scroll back up. I know in UNIX this

Rgui.exe fix for "console not found" buffer overflow problem
I'm using R on Windows XP Professional SP2. I figured out the fix for my buffer overflow problem that did not allow me to use Rgui.exe for about two weeks. I would keep getting "console not found" and even when I uninstalled and re-installed got the same problem. Here's how the problem started. In Rgui.exe, I attempted to get more visible output in the buffer (I wanted

Displaying line breaks & paragraphs using 'simple_format' ?
Hi there, I need to: 1. STORE a text of the below format in a (MySQL) database (using a ''textarea''), and then 2. RETRIEVE & DISPLAY it in exactly the same format (meaning: keeping all paragraphs/line breaks). The intended text format looks like this: *** Blah blahblah blah blah blahblah blah blah blahblah blah blah blahblah blah, blah blahblah. <- NEW

R console history v/s unix history
Hi i'm new to R and find that the "history" functionality works a little different than in unix. A very convenient feature of history in unix is the ability to recall a comand by typing in !x where x is a letter and the latest matching command in the history that starts with the letter is (re)called. This is useful for instance, when calling a "source" command by !s rather

R crashes when communicating with JAGS
There is a thread on this topic already: http://finzi.psych.upenn.edu/Rhelp10/2010-August/250934.html I'm rather mystified by a similar problem and wondering whether I've overlooked something obvious. I'm running with latest versions of R and all packages, and latest version of JAGS running under Windows 7. Here's the problem. I have some source code. It's given below -

Console in RGui does not do CR on \r (PR#4705)
Full_Name: David Lennartsson Version: 1.7.1, 1.8.0 OS: Windows XP Submission from: (NULL) (62.119.45.80) A very minor bug, but here it comes. On doing something as simple as cat("1st test string\r2nd\n") the console in RGui on Windows do not perform a CR on '\r'. This is very annoying if you for example want to have a simple progress meter when running a batch job. It works

Startup on Windows 2000
I am having difficulty coming to grips with Appendix B.2 of the otherwise very useful "An Introduction to R" and the related help file for Startup. I am running RGui 1.6.0 on a Windows 2000 machine from the default installation. How the concepts discussed in B.2 and the Startup help file relate to what I see on my machine is something of a mystery. I quote from the Startup file:

Rcmd BATCH command line arguments
I want to run Rcmd BATCH with R_DEFAULT_PACKAGE=base so it doesn't load any packages, but it seems to reject this argument because it does not start with a '-' or '--'. Is there a different argument that will work? Thanks. Rconsole - setting the size and location of Windows help files (Rgui)
Hi, Using the Rconsole file I can specify the size and location of the Rgui windows on NT. e.g. # Dimensions (in characters) of the console. rows = 51 columns = 100 How can I specify the size of the help windows that popups when I ask for help? e.g. '?help' I would like the popup window to have say rows = 51 and columns = 100, just like the main window but a different location on the

Console not found
I played around with memory limits in R 2.1.0 under XP in order to be able to work with large matrixes (3600x4100). Among several things I tried was to alter console settings and saving them. Since then, I can't restart Rgui. It says several times 'Console not found' with pieces of the text that usually appears in the console and then crashes. Rterm.exe works fine. I've now

Batch mode problem: figure margins too large (code corrected for word wrap)
First of all, I apologize for the triple post, but I did not see that the word wrap on the r-help list site would render my code unusable. So here it is again. Hoping that this time it will work if you cut and paste it in your Rgui. I have a program that works well in Rgui but that does not work in a batch file (Execution halted). Here's the code (it will work on your R, but you need

Apparent parser problem (PR#2520)
Let me first admit: I am experiencing this bug on a precompiled binary of R for windows, and I know these are not supported. I am not asking for support, but I thought the R developers would want to know about this. # Define: foo.page <- function(x) x # Then, foo.page("a") # actually invokes the pager (!) on object named "a" (if one is defined). # same thing happens

R-WinEdt question - answer
The answer to my question was contained in http://cran.r-project.org/contrib/extra/winedt/ReadMe , although it helped to receive the restatements that were emailed to me. As mentioned by Uwe Ligges, Renuad Lancelot, Niels Waller, my mistake was not starting R before using R-WindEdt. Below I will copy the instructions on using R-WinEdt by Renaud Lancelot (except for the last paragraph which is

replicate lines of data frame
Greetings! I am just now learning to use R for my dissertation project. I need to manipulate a lot of text and numeric data. I created a data frame that has 7 columns and 127 unique rows. Now I need to replicate each line 6 times and then later change values in the first 2 columns. I am trying to figure out how to accomplish this. I think that I need to use rep(my.df, each=6) but it does

Problem with invoking R from the command line (Windows Vista)
Dear all I am running in a problem when trying to run R from Windows command line. I am runnning Windows Vista, R-2.10.1. I have a script I would like to run remotely from another program. As it did not work, I thought I would test the script from the Windows command line which highlighted a problem. When I open the command line and type R at the prompt (or any other variant (R CMD BATCH,
