create string of comma-separated content of vector
Hi,
how do I create a string of the comma-separated content of a vector?
I've got the vector i with several numeric values as content:
>str(i)
num 99
and want to create a SQL statement to look like the following where
the part '(2, 4, 6, 7)' should be
the content of the vector i:
select * from [biomass_data$] where site_no in (2, 4, 6, 7)
Here my approach (which doesn't

wrong labels and colors of points in graph/plot
Hi there,
I trying to solve this problem for the whole day not going anywhere,
so I really hope maybe somebody can help
me in this community...
I've got an object coefficient2 which I want to plot in differerent
ways, with colors and labels added to the points,
but somehow there seems to be a problem if a value is NA within the
independent variable, resulting in false labels and false colors

package lmodel2: p-value RMA fitting?
Hi *,
is there a way to obtain some kind of p-value for a model fitted with RMA
using the lmodel2 package?
I know that p-values are discussed and criticized a lot and as you can image
from my question I'm not
very much of a statistican (only writing my bachelor thesis).
As fare as I understood the confidence interval statistic correctly, a
coefficient is regarded as statistically
significant

write values of points beside points in plot
Hi everyone,
is it possible to write a certain value beside a point in a plot?
I'm plotting the following:
plot(coefficient$intercept ~ coefficient$average_BM_leaves_needles,
main="intercepts ::: BM_leaves_needles",
ylab="intercepts", xlab="average BM_leaves_needles per site [kg]")
and I want to have the value of coefficient$site_no written beside
each

Creating defined resources based on array of parameters.
Hi all,
With the goal of making my code a little more DRY, I am trying to define
resource parameters in an array of hashes, and then create defined
resources from these array items. I am having trouble figuring out the
syntax for accessing the hash values for the hash currently being worked on
("self?").
Here''s the code to make it clear:

Function that is giving me a headache- any help appreciated (automatic read )
note: whole function is below- I am sure I am doing something silly.
when I use it like USGS(input="precipitation") it is choking on the
precip.1 <- subset(DF, precipitation!="NA")
b <- ddply(precip.1$precipitation, .(precip.1$gauge_name), cumsum)
DF.precip <- precip.1
DF.precip$precipitation <- b$.data
part, but runs fine outside of the function:

I am having trouble with setting the frequency.
My R script is below:

importing numeric types via sqlQuery
Hi everyone,
I am using the sqlQuery function (in RODBC library) to import data from a database into R. My table (called temp) in the database looks like this:
category numabc 54469517.307692307692def 36428860.230769230769
I used the following R code to pull data into R:data <-sqlQuery(channel, "select category, num from temp;")
However, the result is that "num" gets all its

quoting a table name due to a special character in sqlQuery (RODBC)
Dear List,
I have a problem with RODBC on a Paradox-DB, sqlQuery, and special
characters in table names. Unfortunately, some of the latter include the
underscore <_>. And I am not able to change them.
That's not a problem, when I quote the table name:
> sqlQuery(channel2, 'SELECT * FROM "anmeldung-alt"')
Btw, if I swap ' and " it does not work:

Paasing values to sqlQuery like SAS macro
Hello,
We lost our SAS licence & I am busy transfering my old SAS programs to R
environment. I am very new to R. In 1 program I was creating SAS macro
vars & passing them into a SQL query to run against the server. There are 3
variables firm, begindt, enddt. # of values for each varies month to month.
Is there anyway I could do the same thing in R & pass the afore mentioned
values

non-SQL sqlQuery error
Dear all,
I've encountered a curious problem. I am trying to run an SQL query
using sqlQuery() function in RODBC.
The query works fine when run in a stand-alone SQL browser (Microsoft
Query Analyzer, in particular).
However, when I use the exact same thing from sqlQuery() function, I get
the following error:
Error in "[.data.frame"(data, , ) : not all specified columns exist

subqueries in sqlQuery function (package RODBC)
Hi R users.
sorry for missing example and if question is to general but I am wondering
if it is possible to execute subqueries in function sqlQuery (package RODBC)
with opened connection with Excel or SQL server 2000. I couldn't find any
example of this.
And if it is possible what should be a correct syntax for this query:
SELECT ct,COUNT(*) as n
