run r scripts (tinn) via command
Hello, I am working on a project consisting of several r-scripts written in
the tinn editor. Is it possible to create a superior r script containing
commands to run the sub-scripts one by one?

convert factors to numbers
Hello, I have a problem with reading a csv-file. One colum of the inputfile
consists of characters and numbers. After reading the csv-file I create a
new dataframe by dividing the values of that colum into more colums (then a
colum contains just characters or numbers) but the numbers are converted to
factors. How can I create the new dataframe without having the numbers
converted to factors?

tklistbox - R-Objekt
Hello, I have a problem with a tklistbox. The user should be able to choose
one out of two calculation methods needed for further calculations. My
r-script for that purpose looks like that:
require(tcltk)
tt<-tktoplevel()
tl<-tklistbox(tt,height=4,selectmode="single",background="white")
tkgrid(tklabel(tt,text="select method for LAI

times
Hi! I have an input table with a column "Dates" in the format
"month/day/year" (eg. "5/11/1999" and a column "Times" in the format
"hours/minutes" (eg. "15:20"). In R I need to convert them into chron
objects to extract colums only containing months, days, minutes, ..
For the dates it is no problem if I write:

[Bridge] Strange, my transparent squid stoped working
Are you saying that REDIRECT hasn't been or that it has suddenly stopped
working?
My guess would be that it hasn't been working. Here's why:
The REDIRECT target is in the NAT table because it is designed to redirect
the port of packets destined for the interface they arrived on.
If I understand right your situation is like this:

Cannot start smbd
Hi, all together,
I'm yust testing Samba 3.0.23a on a Suse Linux
10.0 machine.
After deinstalling the Samba-Version 3.0.20 wich
came with the Suse-Package, I've installed the new
3.0.23a-Version. Then I've created a very small
smb.conf and wanted to start the daemons. The nmbd
is running well but the smbd causes the following

Ploting graphics using X tints from a color
Hi,
I'm trying to draw a 2D plot using multiple tints of red. The
(simplified) setup is the following: || year | x | y ||
My idea is that each year is plotted with a different tint of red.
Older year (lightest) -> Later year (darkest). I've managed to plot
this with different scales of grays simply by doing:
palette(gray(length(years):0/length(years)))
before the plot and for each

Problems connecting to remote rsync daemon
This is a newbie question. I've looked through the archives and
haven't found an answer to this.
I set up rsync in inetd.conf to respond on request. When I give a
remote request to the machine, I get the following error:
paladin:~ tamara$ rsync -avr /Volumes/Music/Pictures/ rsync://
tamara@server/Pictures/

[PATCH] add crtime to the snapshot list
From: Anand <anand.jain@oracle.com>
This patch adds creation-time to the snapshot list display,
which would help user to better manage the snapshots when
number of snapshots grow substantially. This patch is developed
and on top of the send/receive btrfs and btrfs-progs repo at

Speex ARM4 patch
The attached patch eliminates some warnings while compiling for ARM4
targets. It also simplifies the asm constraints a bit. Now we can use
the ARM4 optimisations when compiling for PortalPlayer targets in Rockbox.
Cheers,
Dan

Matching regexps
Hi,
I'm having some trouble with matching. The regexp in my dovecot.sieve
file should match on email addresses, but does not.
# The code:
if header :matches "From" "<[a-z0-9-]*@[a-z0-9-.]*>" { set "sender" "${1}"; }
if not execute "grepfrom" ["${sender}"] {
if envelope :matches "from" "*" { set

round(1.5) = round(2.5) = 2?
Dear R-users
with a bit of grief I had to repeat an extensive analysis because I
did not suspect (and therefore did not read the documentation) that
round was implemented as "for rounding off a 5, the IEC 60559 standard
is expected to be used, 'go to the even digit'", resulting in
round(1.5) = 2
round (2.5) = 2.
As a non-mathematician I am both puzzled and intrigued by

[PATCH v2] xen/console: buffer and show origin of guest PV writes
Guests other than domain 0 using the console output have previously been
controlled by the VERBOSE define, but with no designation of which
guest''s output was on the console. This patch converts the HVM output
buffering to be used by all domains, line buffering their output and
prefixing it with the domain ID. This is especially useful for debugging
stub domains.

ARM4 filter code
I have found that filter_mem2 fixed point does not match the inlined
assembly version for arm4. Looking closer there appears to be an off by
one error. It occurs when setting the value of mem at the end of the
inner loop. In the C fixed point version this is done with a subtract.
In the arm4 version instead of multiplying den by yi, it is multipled by
nyi and then an add is done. This

ov_clear(&vorbis) segfaults?
Hello all. I'm new to this list. I'm also new to coding with libvorbis
and things, so please bear with me. :)
I've been having trouble with libvorbisfile.
My use of it is fairly simple, but when I try to ov_clear the vorbis
file, it segfaults.
I can attach or otherwise make availible some demo source code, but for
now I'll just pull out relevant lines:
