How to show the symbol of Angstrom ?
Also, I am wondering if there is any source where the expressions of
many symbols are collected.
Thanks you very much!!!

boxplot in subgroups
Hi,
I have data that looks like this:
ASA1 ASA2 C1_C2
C M 9.0225
S S 2.4315
M C 3.4894
M S 4.5282
C M 1.3183
C S 1.3735
S C 1.0488
S M 7.948
M C 4.5827
I need to plot Boxplots for a given ASA1 (either C,S, or M) with
respect to C1_C2. However, instead of one boxplot I want to plot

Modified Band Depth
Dear Ma'am/Sir,
This is Joy Mae C. Gabion taking up Masters of Science in Statistics at
Mindanao State University ? Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT),
Philippines. I?m currently working on my master?s thesis and chose to base
it on the paper of Sun et.al (2012) which discussed the exact fast
computation of band depth for large functional datasets. There are codes in

adding tick labels to tileplot()
Hi all -
I am far from fluent in R and need some help polishing up a figure I am
trying to create. I wish to make a "tileplot" (from package extraLattice)
where the x axis is time (months; may - sept) and the y axis is space
(fishery management zones). Here is my code so far:
tileplot(effort~month_num*-area_num,mae,col.regions=topo.colors(100),

plot 4th variable contour lines on filled.contour
Hello,
I have a dataset with 4 variables, each consisting of a vector, all with
the same length. I start by interpolating the first three variables
using the function "interp", and plot the interpolation successfully
using "filled.contour". I then interpolate the first two variables and a
fourth using "interp" again, but when I try to overlay the contour

Problem with Sweave
I am using R 2.5 on a Linux Redhat platform. I can successfully run some
example *.Rnw files through Sweave and generate pdf files. When I try my
own example file, "test.Rnw":

In this example we embed parts of the examples from the

ggplot2/qplot question regarding reducing the no. of x-axis labels
All:
I am using the command: qplot(date,MAE,data=data, facets=INTERVAL~type)
which works fine except that the dates for my date axes are crunched
together so much that they are unreadable. I can not find an option that
I can set that will automatically reduce the x-axis labels to fit the
available space.
regards to all?

RandomForest tuning the parameters
Hi Sacha,
On second thought, perhaps this is more the direction that you want ...
X2 = cbind(X_train,y_train)
colnames(X2)[3] = "y"
regr2<-randomForest(y~x1+x2, data=X2,maxnodes=10, ntree=10)

Error analysis for circular data
Dear R users,
I would like to know if it is possible to calculate the Mean Error (ME),
the Root Mean-squared error (RMSE) and absolute error (MAE) for two
temporal series of directional data. Where Can I get documentation about it?
Thanks in advance

Forecast - How to create variables with summary() results parameters
Hi,
I would like to create variables in R containing parameters of
summary(*Forecast
Results*).
Using the following code:

data <- AirPassengers
xets <- ets(data, model="ZZZ", damped=NULL)
xfor <- forecast(xets,h=12, level=c(80,95))
summary(xfor)
the output is:

Rounding parameter values in genoud(), Rgenoud package
I would like to limit the significant figures of the calibrated
parameters determined by genoud() in the Rgenoud package. Below is some
example output, where column 1 is model run number, columns 2-7 are the
parameter values, and columns 8-12 are model fit statistics. I would
like genoud to internally limit parameters to 4 decimal places as shown
in this output. It is clear that the function is

like to analyze & plot the data as monthly averages. I have looked at a
bunch of examples which use some combination of zoo and aggregate, but I
have not been able to successfully apply bits and pieces from the examples

SID problems?
I?ve upgraded from Samba 2 to version 3, and am having some problems. I think they?re related to SIDs, which I?ve not really been aware of before!
Currently I only have the Samba server which is acting as PDC for Win XP Pro machines. My smb.conf looks like:

Modified Band Depth
Please keep the list CC'd.
In order to use the algorithms, I would assume you need to understand them. I hope you find it a productive challenge to express your understanding in code. Note that the article apparently spells out what you need very explicitly in pseudocode. If you really need to work from the Matlab example, there are many resources online that explain Matlab syntax and how to
