spurious warnings from get_page() via gnttab_copy() during frontend shutdown
In testing our implementation of the hypervisor copy based backend- >frontend networking changes, we see what I believe are spurious warning messages during the shutdown of the frontend domain: (XEN) /export/build/schuster/xvm-gate/xen.hg/xen/include/asm/mm.h: 189:d0 Error pfn 30e290: rd=ffff830000fcf100, od=ffff830000fcf100, caf=00000000, taf=0000000000000000 (XEN) Xen call trace:

[Pv-ops][PATCH 0/4 v4] Netback multiple threads support
This is netback multithread support patchset version 4. Main Changes from v3: 1. Patchset is against xen/next tree. 2. Merge group and idx into netif->mapping. 3. Use vmalloc to allocate netbk structures. Main Changes from v2: 1. Merge "group" and "idx" into "netif->mapping", therefore page_ext is not used now. 2. Put netbk_add_netif() and netbk_remove_netif()

[PATCH v2] xen-netback: add a pseudo pps rate limit
VM traffic is already limited by a throughput limit, but there is no control over the maximum packet per second (PPS). In DDOS attack the major issue is rather PPS than throughput. With provider offering more bandwidth to VMs, it becames easy to coordinate a massive attack using VMs. Example: 100Mbits ~ 200kpps using 64B packets. This patch provides a new option to limit VMs maximum packets per

[PATCH 1/1] xen/netback: correctly calculate required slots of skb.
When counting required slots for skb, netback directly uses DIV_ROUND_UP to get slots required by header data. This is wrong when offset in the page of header data is not zero, and is also inconsistent with following calculation for required slot in netbk_gop_skb. In netbk_gop_skb, required slots are calculated based on offset and len in page of header data. It is possible that required slots

[PATCH net-next v3 5/5] xen-netback: enable IPv6 TCP GSO to the guest
This patch adds code to handle SKB_GSO_TCPV6 skbs and construct appropriate extra or prefix segments to pass the large packet to the frontend. New xenstore flags, feature-gso-tcpv6 and feature-gso-tcpv6-prefix, are sampled to determine if the frontend is capable of handling such packets. [PATCH 00/12] Xen arch portability patches (take 4)
Hi Jeremy. According to your suggestion, I recreated patches for Ingo's x86.git tree. And this patch series includes Eddie's modification. Please review and forward them. (or push back to respin.) Recently the xen-ia64 community started to make efforts to merge xen/ia64 Linux to upstream. The first step is to merge up domU portion. This patchset is preliminary for xen/ia64 domU linux

[PATCH v2 0/5] ARM hypercall ABI: 64 bit ready
Hi all, this patch series makes the necessary changes to make sure that the current ARM hypercall ABI can be used as-is on 64 bit ARM platforms: - it defines xen_ulong_t as uint64_t on ARM; - it introduces a new macro to handle guest pointers, called XEN_GUEST_HANDLE_PARAM (that has size 4 bytes on aarch and is going to have size 8 bytes on aarch64); - it replaces all the occurrences of

Interesting observation with network event notification and batching
Hi all I''m hacking on a netback trying to identify whether TLB flushes causes heavy performance penalty on Tx path. The hack is quite nasty (you would not want to know, trust me). Basically what is doesn''t is, 1) alter network protocol to pass along mfns instead of grant references, 2) when the backend sees a new mfn, map it RO and cache it in its own address space. With this

[PATCH 00/23] ia64/xen domU take 6
Hi. This patchset implements ia64/xen domU support based on ia64/pv_ops frame work which was sent as another patchest. Changes from take 5 are rebased to Linux 2.6.26-rc3, bug fix ivt.S paravirtualization and multi entry point support. I believe these patches can be applied to the linux ia64 repository. This patchset does the followings. - Some preparation work. Mainly importing header files to

[PATCH 00/50] ia64/xen take 3: ia64/xen domU paravirtualization
Hi. This patchset implements xen/ia64 domU support. Qing He and Eddie Dong also has been woring on pv_ops so that I want to discuss before going further and avoid duplicated work. I suppose that Eddie will also post his own patch. So reviewing both patches, we can reach to better pv_ops interface. - I didn't changed the ia64 intrinsic paravirtulization abi from the last post.
