samba - Nov 2001 - can't find "pam_winbind.so"

Hello to all,

I am trying to setup samba 2.2.2 with winbind and i
have gone through all the documentation that i could
find in regards to this.  Everything has been going
smoothly up until now.  The html docs for setting up
winbind states that i should copy "pam_winbind.so" from
the /samba/source/nsswitch/ to /lib/security/, simple
enough but i do not have "pam_winbind.so" in that dir
nor is it located anywhere else on the machine.

I ran ./configure --with-winbind, compiled and
installed but i can't find the necessary file
anywhere.  This is a freshly installed RedHat 7.2
system.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

do a "make nsswitch/pam_winbind.so" command from your samba/source
folder

weirdly if you had run a "./configure --with-winbind" with the
"--with-pam"
option make would have compiled pam_winbind.so for you...
