OK folks, I'm still having no luck whatsoever with samba on sparc solaris 2.7. Having raised a call with Sun, they came back with nothing except try the precompiled 2.0.5 release from www.sunfreeware.com. So I am Attached are my smb.conf, and the debug level 10 output from: smbclient -L chef > chef.log smbclient -L localhost > localhost.log The server is called chef, and has IP 192.168.1.200, so everything seems fine looking at the debug information - it correctly looks up the IP etc etc. The wins server 192.168.1.5 is an NT4.0SP5 server, and chef is showing up in the WINS database as: CHEF[00h] CHEF[03h] CHEF[20h] all pointing to the correct 192.168.1.200 IP address. Can anyone tell me why localhost works, but chef doesn't?
