May 24, 1999 In Windows (Win 95 cilent), when I set up the access control as "user mode", and try to "ADD" a list of users to a particular share, I get the message, "You cannot view the list of users at this time. Please try again later." I am using Samba 2.0.2. Is user mode functionality available in this version? If so how do I select a list of users for a particular share from the Win9x box? If not, is there another version of Samba such that I can use to achieve this functionality? ==Viral Shah
Are you using your samba server as the Primary Domain Controller on your network? If you are, this is right out of the NT Domain FAQ on samba.org: The following is a list of included currently features: <snip> * Windows 95 clients will allow "user level" security to be set but will not currently allow browsing of accounts. If you are not using your samba server as the PDC then that error you are getting is to be expected. Check this out for more info: http://ca.samba.org/samba/docs/ntdom_faq/page1.html Good luck! :o) On Tue, May 25, 1999 at 02:15:32AM +1000, Viral Shah wrote:> May 24, 1999 > > In Windows (Win 95 cilent), when I set up the access control as "user > mode", and try to "ADD" a list of users to a particular share, I get the > message, "You cannot view the list of users at this time.
