samba - Jul 1998 - HPUX 10.20 and SAMBA 1.9.18p8

Has anyone out there successfully compiled any 1.9.18 version of samba with
HP-UX 10.20?

When I try, the compile seems to complete without error.  After the install nmbd
does not run at all
and smbd has problems handling password validations with a security = server
configuration.

I also noticed that binaries for this version do not yet exist.

I run 1.9.18p8 on Hp-UX 10.10, but with security=user.

security=server is broken in 1.9.18p8. I sent to the list a patch that
Jeremy Allison sent to me to fix this. Look in the archives for a
message dated 14 Jul 1998 and with subject "password server problem".

Apply the patch in that message to 1.9.18p8, recompile and enjoy.
