I am working through the Agile Deelopment with Rails book but I am also investigating the ancillary items like HTML and CS Sheets as I do so. I have a very minor issue that I would lke some help with. Where in the directory structure of a Rails application does one place a custom favicon.ico file and how does one make Webrick load it? Most of the web references to the two that I can find are concerned with stopping webrick creating error messages for missing favicon.ico files, which is not exactly what I want to do. Put the favicon.ico file in the </path/to/your/rails/app>/public directory. Am 28.07.2005 um 22:38 schrieb James B. Simply replace the empty RAILS_APP/public/favicon.ico created by Rails with your own.> Where in the directory structure of a Rails application does one > place a custom favicon.ico file and how does one make Webrick load > it?

In an attempt to solve this on my own I had prviously placed copies of the favicon.ico file in a number of directories unde the application root and so when I saw one in <railsapp>/public I assumed that it: 1. was put there by me; and, b. therefore was`not empty; and c. as nothing was displaying in the address line of the browser that there was some other place that webrick was looking for it. Overwriting the default favicon.ico file in /public solved the problem. Thank you. -- *** e-mail is NOT a secure channel *** James B.
