The server I am about to deploy my Rails app on has multiple MySQL instances. Mine is on port 4001 and uses as socket /tmp/mysql-tesugen.sock. If I point to it in database.yml ("socket: /tmp/..."), Rails says the following:> Mysql::Error (Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client): > /vendor/activerecord/lib/active_record/vendor/mysql.rb:452:in `read'' > /vendor/activerecord/lib/active_record/vendor/mysql.rb:130:in `real_connect'' > [...]My impression from searching the wiki was that this would work. I''m on rails 0.9.2. /P.
