[Puppet Users] Very slow puppet agent runs on empty/noop manifests (v3.2.1)
This is a VM with 1GB RAM and almost nothing running on it. It takes 10s to read a manifest that defines one node, one class, and checks whether puppet package is installed... Where is all the time going? Is something wrong? Are you running into the Socket.gethostbyname(Socket.gethostname) issue pointed out by Wil Cooley a few days ago? https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!topic/puppet-dev/z09Nkk18tRE<https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!topic/puppet-dev/z09Nkk18tRE> If so there is potential /etc/hosts change in that thread that might sort out your issue. - Keith On 23 May 2013 17:16, Martin Langhoff <martin.langhoff@gmail.com> wrote:> This is a VM with 1GB RAM and almost nothing running on it. Funny thing, the hostname resolves fine and quick # time host rl01m-puppet rl01m-puppet.remote-learner.net has address 204.13.103.68 real 0m0.025s user 0m0.009s sys 0m0.009s I am guessing the timeout is on a reverse resolution. thank you! m -- martin.langhoff@gmail.com - ask interesting questions - don''t get distracted with shiny stuff - working code first ~ http://docs.moodle.org/en/User:Martin_Langhoff -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Users" group.
