asterisk users - Mar 2010 - Which spandsp to use with 1.6.2?

Receiving a fax pstn - pstn with 1.6.2.6-rc2:

I'm using spandsp-0.0.5, which, AFAICT, is the last release. However I 
also see:

and
http://www.soft-switch.org/downloads/snapshots/spandsp/spandsp-20100228.tar.gz

Should I be using the pre-release or maybe the snapshot with 1.6.2?

AFAIU, the author recommends latest 0.0.6pre . pre17 in this case.
There does not seem to be any separate 0.0.5 branch maintained anywhere.

This is exactly the same as spandsp-0.0.6pre16 .
