Well I make some POC but doesn't seems to me any advantage in use VDO. Without VDO I have created a single Ubuntu VM Server, and the SO just used 3.6G. But using VDO I noticed that the underlay used the very same 3.6G. Perhaps I am doing something wrong. I had have used the following command in order to create VDO: vdo create --name=vdo1 --device=/dev/sdb --emulate512=enabled --vdoLogicalSize=200G Thanks for any advice. --- Gilberto Nunes Ferreira (47) 99676-7530 - Whatsapp / Telegram Em qua., 4 de ago. de 2021 ?s 07:26, Dmitry Melekhov <dm at belkam.com> escreveu:> 04.08.2021 14:19, Strahil Nikolov ?????: > > Are you sure you did enable the '--emulate512' when creating VDO ? > > I'm sure we did not add this option. > > Thank you, we'll try . > > > > Best Regards, > Strahil Nikolov > > On Wed, Aug 4, 2021 at 5:36, Dmitry Melekhov > <dm at belkam.com> <dm at belkam.com> wrote: > ________ > > > > Community Meeting Calendar: > > Schedule - > Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 14:30 IST / 09:00 UTC > Bridge: https://meet.google.com/cpu-eiue-hvk > Gluster-users mailing list > Gluster-users at gluster.org > https://lists.gluster.org/mailman/listinfo/gluster-users > > > ________ > > > > Community Meeting Calendar: > > Schedule - > Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 14:30 IST / 09:00 UTC > Bridge: https://meet.google.com/cpu-eiue-hvk > Gluster-users mailing list > Gluster-users at gluster.org > https://lists.gluster.org/mailman/listinfo/gluster-users >-------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Size????? Used Available Use% Space saving% /dev/mapper/vdo1????????? 3.8T????? 2.3T????? 1.6T? 59% 54% df -h /dev/mapper/vdo1??????? 7,5T???????? 4,6T? 3,0T?????????? 61% /BACKUP As you can see I saved 1/2 of space. On filesystem level file sizes will be the same , of course...> > > > --- > Gilberto Nunes Ferreira > (47) 99676-7530 - Whatsapp / Telegram > > > > > > > Em qua., 4 de ago. de 2021 ?s 07:26, Dmitry Melekhov <dm at belkam.com > <mailto:dm at belkam.com>> escreveu: > > 04.08.2021 14:19, Strahil Nikolov ?????: >> Are you sure you did enable the '--emulate512' when creating VDO ? >> > I'm sure we did not add? this option. > > Thank you, we'll try . > > > >> Best Regards, >> Strahil Nikolov >> >> On Wed, Aug 4, 2021 at 5:36, Dmitry Melekhov >> <dm at belkam.com> <mailto:dm at belkam.com> wrote: >> ________ >> >> >> >> Community Meeting Calendar: >> >> Schedule - >> Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 14:30 IST / 09:00 UTC >> Bridge: https://meet.google.com/cpu-eiue-hvk >> <https://meet.google.com/cpu-eiue-hvk> >> Gluster-users mailing list >> Gluster-users at gluster.org <mailto:Gluster-users at gluster.org> >> https://lists.gluster.org/mailman/listinfo/gluster-users >> <https://lists.gluster.org/mailman/listinfo/gluster-users> >> > > ________ > > > > Community Meeting Calendar: > > Schedule - > Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 14:30 IST / 09:00 UTC > Bridge: https://meet.google.com/cpu-eiue-hvk > <https://meet.google.com/cpu-eiue-hvk> > Gluster-users mailing list > Gluster-users at gluster.org <mailto:Gluster-users at gluster.org> > https://lists.gluster.org/mailman/listinfo/gluster-users > <https://lists.gluster.org/mailman/listinfo/gluster-users> >-------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
