R help - Jun 2022 - Cumulative probability from binomial distribution

Hi,

I have the below output.
> pbinom(0.10, 1, 0.40)
[1] 0.6

I am curious what it means to serve a fraction as the first argument
in pbinom()?

Sounds uncomfortably close to a statistical or philosophical question. Does a
reminder that the "p" in "pbinom" means "cumulative
probability" help?

q <- seq( -1, 2, 0.001 )
p <- pbinom( q, 1, 0.4 )
plot( q, p, type = "l" )

It means that the probability of an outcome less than or equal to 0.10 is 0.6. 

0 is the only possible such outcome but that is not a problem for the
definition, and it is fairly common to use cumulative distribution functions for
discrete outcomes defined as right-continuous step functions on the real line.
