Is it possible that DC2 it was an old samba 4.9.14 that i have demoted and reinstalled with samba 4.17.3 and rejoin with same name ??? -----Messaggio originale----- Da: Corrado Ravinetto Inviato: marted? 22 novembre 2022 09:54 A: samba at lists.samba.org Cc: Rowland Penny <rpenny at samba.org> Oggetto: R: [Samba] R: R: R: R: R: R: windows 11 22h2 I done all like in your suggestion but nothing changed Add dns update command in each smb.conf DC1 192.168.4.34 DC2 192.168.4.33 DC3 192.168.4.32 [root at dc1 ~]# cat /etc/resolv.conf # Generated by NetworkManager search lxcerruti.com nameserver 192.168.4.34 nameserver 192.168.4.33 nameserver 192.168.4.32 nameserver 192.168.1.1 [root at dc2 ~]# cat /etc/resolv.conf # Generated by NetworkManager search lxcerruti.com nameserver 192.168.4.33 nameserver 192.168.4.32 nameserver 192.168.4.34 nameserver 192.168.1.1 [root at dc3 ~]# cat /etc/resolv.conf # Generated by NetworkManager search lxcerruti.com nameserver 192.168.4.33 nameserver 192.168.4.32 nameserver 192.168.4.34 nameserver 192.168.1.1 Does each DC use its own ipaddress as the first nameserver in /etc/resolv.conf ? If it does or changing it to do so doesn't help, try restarting Samba. If all else fails, try adding this line to the DC's smb.conf: dns update command = /usr/sbin/samba_dnsupdate --use-samba-tool Restart Samba Rowland Corrado Ravinetto Sistemi informativi corrado.ravinetto at lanificiocerruti.com <mailto:corrado.ravinetto at lanificiocerruti.com> T: +39 015 3591283 [Lanificio F.lli CERRUTI] Lanificio F.lli Cerruti S.p.A. In your position, I would have done this: 1) Demote the old DC. 2) Check in AD for any any instances of the old DC and remove any found. 3) Format the old DC and install the latest version of the OS that I wished to use. 4) Set the new computer to have a fixed IP 5) Install the latest version of Samba possible. 6) Join the new computer to the AD domain as a DC (at this point it shouldn't matter if it is using an old DC name and/or ipaddress, see '2') By doing the above, you are sure that there is no lingering mention of the old DC in AD and everything is fresh in the OS. Although it could easily be a cut-and-paste error, as shown the dc3 controller is using *dc2* as its first nameserver. I'm not too sure of the full consequences of this, but perhaps it is part of the problem.
