[Samba] Point about Point'n'Print and PrintNightmare...
Someone have some clue, or some good URL, to understand the current status of the Point'n'Print on W10? I'm getting mad... Currently, setting: reg add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Printers\PointAndPrint" /f /v "RestrictDriverInstallationToAdministrators" /t REG_DWORD /d "0" reg add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Printers" /f /v "CopyFilesPolicy" /t REG_DWORD /d "1" i'm able back to install driver with Point'n'Print, but if some user 'roam' to a PC where the driver is not just installed, the driver get not automatically loaded and the printer does not appear and go in some sort of 'undefined' state. When user get back to original PC, printer are there, i can configure it in control panel but does not appear in application, i need to 'reload' them to make it visible. It is really frustrating... -- Ventiquattromilapensierialsecondofluisconoinarrestabili alimentando voglie e necessita`. (CSI)

I have these GUID assinged that users can install "some" device drivers. {4d36e979-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318} {4658ee7e-f050-11d1-b6bd-00c04fa372a7} I hope that helps. It works, with an aditional GPO. I only have a link to a German webpage where yu can download the additional GPO and how you can set it up. Samba as print server with this GPOs works fine :-) https://www.gruppenrichtlinien.de/artikel/printnightmare-3-richtlinien-werden-benoetigt Am 26.11.21 um 11:34 schrieb Marco Gaiarin via samba:> > Someone have some clue, or some good URL, to understand the current status > of the Point'n'Print on W10?
