To get SMBv1 back, you have to set them both to 'NT1', you do not have to change any other 'protocol' settings and should remove any other 'protocol' lines. You do need to add the 'idmap config' lines, install winbind if not installed, remove sssd if installed and join the domain with 'net ads join' Network browsing is on the way out, you should learn to live without it.
