hello everyone! i have a problem checking out the icecast cvs. the checkout stalls after pulling timing/timing.h (no matter which module, they all seem to depend on it). i have to kill it after a while. am i doing anything wrong, or is your cvs botched ? for now, i'm using a nightly snapshot, but i can't find ices2 in it, so i tried to pull cvs. btw, the chroot feature is cool. i found that if the server is chrooted, the web and log paths must be relative to the new chroot, so maybe you could add a little note to the example conf file ?: --- icecast.xml~ 2003-03-02 10:32:19.000000000 +0100 +++ icecast.xml 2003-03-02 10:32:19.000000000 +0100 @@ -64,6 +64,11 @@ <paths> <basedir>/usr/local/icecast</basedir> + <!-- + if you use the chroot option (see below), + the following paths must be relative to the + new chroot directory! + --> <logdir>/usr/local/icecast/logs</logdir> <webroot>/usr/local/icecast/web</webroot> </paths> best, jörn <p> -- If you're happy and you know it, bomb Iraq. YOUR cvs client, on the other hand, is botched - it's an old version with a bug in it (our cvs server is a recent version). If you don't use -z (compression), the bug isn't triggered. Also, timing/timing.h is the last file - this bug is triggered only at the very end, so you've actually successfully checked everything out. It's ok to just kill the client at that point (but preferable to update the cvs client or not use -z)> > for now, i'm using a nightly snapshot, but i can't find ices2 in it, so > i tried to pull cvs. btw, the chroot feature is cool. i found that if > the server is chrooted, the web and log paths must be relative to the > new chroot, so maybe you could add a little note to the example conf file ?: >Sensible enough suggestion.
