smb.conf is YUGE.

And the windows machine has no problems.  just this printer.
an only since last week when I had to rebuild the server

if it helps, this command does work, although it takes about 20 seconds:

smbclient -L FedoraServer -U workcentre -W xxxxx

Just post the [global] part then 

Without it, we have absolutely no way to know how you are running Samba
