Target Plot?
I've done a little snooping around the R Gallery Site (http://addictedtor.free.fr/graphiques/) and the "Statistics with R" site (http://zoonek2.free.fr/UNIX/48_R/all.html), but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.  Here is the type of plot I would like to draw: (1) 2-D three axis plot where each axis is separated by 120-degrees (would be great if the number of axis

Issues with file.info?
Are there any tricks associated with file.info? I just tried it on a directory folder and it returned NA for all fields for all files. I tried it on a different folder with different files and it still returned NA. I tried it on a specific file and it returned all the proper info correctly. Just wondering if there are any tricks I've overlooked.

print table on plot
Hello, I would like to be able to plot an array on a plot, something like: |arg1 | arg2 | arg3 val1| 0.9 | 1.1 | 2.4 val2| 0.33 | 0.23 | -1.4 val3| hello| stop | test I know Rwave is good to report but don't want to use it. ? Is there a package that allow quick and dirty plot of dataframes like this ? Thanks a lot -- View this message in context:

Stacked plots with common x-axis and different y-axis
Is there a place that shows how to create two plots that are stacked on top of each other where they share a common x-axis scale, but have differnt y-axis scale? Say have the following data: airquality Stack plot(airquality$Day, airquality$Wind) on top of plot(airquality$Day, airquality$Temp). I am interested in stacking the two on top of each other with no seam, or plotting the two lines with

Automatically placing a legend in an area with the most white space...
At one point I believe I heard of an R package that would automatically find the most empty space in a plot, and then that answer could then be used to intelligently place a legend. I would like to try to apply that R package to the contrived example shown below, so thank you for any hints or tips that can be provided. x = seq(0, 1000, by = 1) y1_vals<-rnorm(1000, mean = 0, sd = 50)

addtable2plot(plotrix)
Dear List adding a table to a plot using addtable2plot(plotrix) does not seem to work when using a logarithmic axis. The table is then reduced to one line. Is there an argument to indicate that a log-scale is used, or an alternative to add a bunch of information to a plot? I'm using R 2.6.1 on WinXP SP2. thanks Markus -- Markus Didion Wald?kologie Forest Ecology Inst. f.

Print table data on to a plot
Hi, Is there away to print a short table out along side with a plot? I'm thinking about doing a par(mfrow = c(1,2)) Then, the plot is on one side, summary result on the other. Is there any quick way to print out a data.frame in table format? Thanks -- Regards, Anh Tran [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Debugging issues encountered during the "R CMD check" process
I read through the "Writing R Extensions" and the "Debugging in R" website (http://www.stats.uwo.ca/faculty/murdoch/software/debuggingR/), looking for some hints about how to solve the issue of debugging problems encountered during the "R CMD check" process, but nothing seems to be mentioned about addressing issues encountered. Specifically, I am working with the R

sweave tables as images?
Hello folks, I've been on a journey trying to figure out how to manage documents that are amenable to sharing and editing, but that contain dynamic content generated by R. I've come to the following solution: I use Sweave to generate labeled png & pdf figures, and I "Insert & Link" those figures as "Pictures" in a Word 2010 doc. Thus, when data or code

3-axis Barplots (plus qplot like staked histogram capability)
Searched my R reference docs*, and the Rseek, but evidently I've overlooked this capabilty.    Is it possible to produce a 3d Barplot using R?   For example would like to have a three axis bar plot - \ x-axis = location(discrete), y-axis = data value, z-axis = frequency of value occurance (of location and value)   Would also if could also do something like what "qplot" allows,

Properly labeling abline with text?
The result of the code shown below is posted at the following URL: http://n2.nabble.com/Trying-to-properly-label-abline-td2524629.html I would like to figure out a better way to label the horizontal abline. I tried multiplying the text y position by a scale, but this didn't always put the text in a useful position. I guess I am curious if there is a preferred procedure for labeling the

Help with graphs in A4 size
Hi, I need to generate complex graphics which have to be shown in the plot window but also in pdf file, and they must have A4 size. This is the reason why I use width=8.27 and heigth=11.69. The problem is that I don't make it runs when I put something (text, lines, and so on) outside the plot region. I mean if I run the following code, it works perfectly, because the text "My

including tabular information with a plot in R Graphics
Hi all, I have a presentation problem that I cannot find a solution to in the documetnation. I have a nice barplot. Below this I would also like a table with some information relating to the plot. My idea was to have the plot and table on the same graphics window so I can output them as an image file for a report. Does anybody know how to include tabular information from a dataset or table into

How to create a legend that automatically reads the values from two vectors?
Hi all!!! How can I create a legend to my plot that automatically reads the values from two vectors? betav<-c(0.78,0.94,0.88,0.41,0.59,4.68) etav<-c(235.6,59.5,31.2,8.7,3.2,1174) I want my legend to show 6 lines beta(in greeks)=0.78,eta(in greeks)=235.6 beta(in greeks)=0.94,eta(in greeks)=6.59 .... beta(in greeks)=4.68,eta(in greeks)=1174 I know how to do it "by hand" but I have
