Transfer Crosstable to Word-Document
# Dear list, # I am an R-beginner and # spent the last days looking for a method to insert tables produced # with R into a word document. I thought about SPPS: copy a table from # an SPO-file and paste it into a word document # (if needed do some formatting with that table). # Annother idea was, to produce a TEX-file, # insert it and make it a word-table. # I found the following libraries, which

Backquote in R syntax
Hi Folks, Can someone satisfy my curiosity (well, at least about the following query!) Reading the draft proofs of an article I've been asked to look through, I find the typesetter has set what would normally be entered as source("xyz.R") or source('xyz.R') as source(`xyz.R') i.e. it has come out with an opening backquote, then xyz.R, then a closing forward

Transferring R results to word prosessors
There has been an incredible number of responses in a short time, with a number of different suggestions. With hindsight, I must admit I have not been quite clear, so additional (somewhat lengthy) explanation is needed. I want to use R in an introductory course on multiple regression (among other things) starting in two weeks time for students of psychology at my University. These students

OpenOffice Conversion
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 List, I have a rather unique question, that perhaps can be answered easily here.I did search google and only came up with one app that does this exact thing; however, it's an expensive tool. Thusly, not my cup of tea. I have need to convert approximately 100 documents in Openoffice's native format to Microsoft Word's native format.

nt acl support = no ???
'llo, It was suggested that I added "nt acl support = no" to my smb.conf file, in order to get rid of the "error packet at line 588 cmd=115 (SMBsesssetupX)eclass=2 ecode=2" error. (Apparently it has something to do with Word's temporary files that are created with mode 000 which stops it from completing a file save.) I added this to my smb.conf file

can you see the present?
here's a little present for y'all... > http://jaguarps.com/tools/jaguar-editor-727.png that's a screenshot of my latest project... i've slapped a little text-editor in front of my e-book conversion routines, so that the feedback loop becomes much tighter, goosing the learning process considerably. no more mystery about whether it's right; if it looks correct in the

Rescaling character widthof the title
When I export a graphic into a windows metafile, import that file into a Word document, the width of the character of my title isn’t uniform anymore. The only way I found for solving this problem is to use the courier font, but I would like to use a font like (font.main=1). Does anybody know about that problem? obs<-matrix(scan("D:\\.....) win.metafile(filename =

Help with subset
I am so happy about learning how to read in multiple Excel files, that I have to try and make another improvement. I know what I have been doing is clumsy, but it works. Hopefully, someone can suggest a more elegant solution. As a novice, I have been using MS-Word and mail merge to write my code. I start with about 2 pages of code, and end up with 2,220 merged pages that I copy and paste into R.

MS Word document window disappearing in 2003 & 2007 versions
Hi Regularily, I will 'lose' a Word document window. It happens when both single and multiple documents are opened. I will first explain the 2 document case. If I open 2 documents, I can see this fact by looking at the 'window' menu; there, it will say that there are 2 documents open. I can see one document, on screen, but when I try to activate the document that is not seen,

Writing an automated install script
Hi! We will start on writing an automated install script for Trados on spare time, Friday next week. Up to then I have to prepared the script *in a way that a developer will understand what I want* and being responsible for testing it under Linux. Basically it will be an automated script which will be timed, i.e. if no install_ok after 20 min, it would be hanging somewhere and will abort and

Are there any guis out there, which will allow editing of the graph?
Hi, all, I would like to know if there is any gui interface out there (academic or commercial) that allows one to edit R-language generated graphs (e.g positioning x axis labels.) It would be nice to have something like the user interface of Igor or Origin. I have already used JGR and R-gui. These are good, but they don't allow one to easily edit graphs. I have also tried
