Modifying the design matrix X in GAMS to suit data assimilation
I have a data assimilation problem that might be amenable to the use of GAMS, but I am not sure how feasible it is to implement. I was told the R mailing list was a great resource.
My observations are spatiotemporal salinity in the San Francisco Bay at a number of instruments over a few days. The thing that I want to fit is the initial condition for a salt transport model at the beginning of this

PDE
Dear all,
Does any know how to solve PDE with R? The archive list refers to the
use of ODE if PDE are parabolic. I am not a mathematician and this does
not mean anything for me!
help would be very appreciated.
Many thanks

counting numbers without replicates in a vector
Hi,
I am just wondering if there is an easy way to count
in a numeric vector how many numbers don't have
replicates.
For example,
a=c(1,1,2,2,3,4,5), how can I know there are three
numbers (3, 4 and 5) without replicates?
Thank you!

analytical solution of partial differential equation
i am trying to solve a partial differential equation analytically(PDE) in R .
i have found some functions that do the stuff numerically. But that will not
meet my purpose. is there any function to solve PDE analytically. please
help.

dahdi-linux 2.6.2 failing to compile with linux 3.13
Hello,
I'm getting the following errors when compiling dahdi-linux 2.6.2 under
Ubuntu 14.04 with kernel 3.13.0-24-generic.
I did google and found one thread suggesting the errors should be fixed in
2.6.2, and another suggesting to try 2.4 which didn't make sense but I
tried anyway, and it gave similar warnings.
Would anyone know how to make it compile? Thanks in advance.

Extract information from the summary of 'lm'
Hi Everyone,
I just don't know how to extract the information I
want from the summary of a linear regression model
fitting.
For example, I fit the following simple linear
regression model:
results = lm(y_var ~ x_var)
summary(results) gives me:
Call:
lm(formula = y_var ~ x_var)
Residuals:
Min 1Q Median 3Q Max
-5.9859 -1.5849 0.4574 2.0163 4.6015

Fixing nouveau for >4k PAGE_SIZE
Hi folks !
So I've been trying to figure out what it would take to make
nouveau work properly on architectures where PAGE_SIZE isn't
4k such as most ppc64's. An initial patch from Dave fixed a
bogon in nv41.c nv41_vm_map_sg() which was trying to handle
the case at that low level, but this isn't enough, and after
a bit of digging, I also think that's not the right approach:

Monitor guest vm memory usage
Hi All
Is there a tool to monitor qemu-kvm guest vm memory usage ( free in guest vm)?Nowadays, I have already researched some methods:1. qemu-kvm process memory usage.? ? ?Since qemu-kvm process memory usage always increases as time goes on, it will not reflect the memory usage in vm.2.?virsh dommemstat? ? ?Just as method 1.3.?virsh qemu-monitor-command --hmp [domain name] "info mem"? ?
