iplots/JGR on OS X 10.4.8
iMac Intel Core Duo; OS X 10.4.8; Java 1.5.0_06; R 2.4.1; JGR 1.4-14; rJava 0.4-12; iplots 1.0-5 I'm unable to get JGR or iplots to load using "library(JGR)" or "library(iplots)", respectively. This feels like it might be a classpath or Mac look-and-feel issue, but I'm not sure where to go with it at this point. I've searched the fora and web to no avail. Any

iplots
Hi guys, I am trying to plot a scatterplot with lines instead of with points using function iplot in library iplots. The best I can come up with is x =(1:100) y = rnorm(100) iplot(x,y,ptDiam=0) ilines(x,y) Do you guys know of any paramter to set the "type" in iplot or iplot.opt? Thanks, Fernando ?lvarez

Howto: Java Plugin for Firefox 3.0.1?
Can anyone here give me the magic decoder ring recipe for getting jre "plugged" into Firefox 3.0.1? The plugins directory is gone and the Firefox FAQ regarding this issue cryptically mentions that plugin support has been dropped. It then points one to a early adopter SUN jre1.6-10 page that has innumerable dependencies which my version of CentOS-5.2 does not meet. Firefox 3.0.0 had a

Datapoints underneath datapoints Problem
Hi there. I have the following graph: http://www.nabble.com/file/p10928148/map.jpg However, some datapoints occur at the same place as other datapoints and are so layered on top of each other. I would like to know if there is any possible way in which I could view those datapoints that are layered on top of each other ...maybe by rotating using latitude to show the datapoints underneath (but

query labels in iplot() (or other interactive scatterplot)
By Ctr-moving the cursor over a point in an iplot() scatterplot (package iplots) it is possible to check the exact x,y coordinates of a given point. Is it possible to check a text label for that point as well? (i.e., the same info that would get printed on the graphic using text(x,y, labels=v) or with identify(x,y,labels), but I do not want to get the labels permanently plotted on the graphic)

write.xlsx error message
I think remember this error from trying to write an Excel file that already existed. If this file already exists, try to delete it and see, if this solves the issue. Besides that you're writing that you are "Using write.xlsx to extract data from an Excel file", write.xlsx() is to write an Excel file, not to read from it. Should be read.xlsx() then iirc. ? ? cmdscale question
Hi. I know matrices that use distances between places works fine when using cmdscale. However, what about matricies such as: A B C D E A 0 1 23 12 9 B 1 0 10 12 3 C 23 10 0 23 4 D 12 12 23 0 21 E 9 3 4 21 0 i.e. matrices which do not represent physical distances between places (as they would not make sense for real distances such as the one above)
