JBOD recommendation for ZFS usage
Dear all
Sorry if it''s kind of off-topic for the list but after talking
to lots of vendors I''m running out of ideas...
We are looking for JBOD systems which
(1) hold 20+ 3.3" SATA drives
(2) are rack mountable
(3) have all the nive hot-swap stuff
(4) allow 2 hosts to connect via SAS (4+ lines per host) and see
all available drives as disks, no RAID volume.

Hi there
I keep getting the following errors scrolling in my dovecot logs. I am
wondering how I can nail down what is creating that problem.
dovecot: 2011-11-04 16:58:01 Error: IMAP(<usr>): FETCH for mailbox Trash
UID 42022 got too little data: 90900 vs 1529791
also I have a trash folder with over 100k messages in mbox format. I am
wondering if migrating to Maildir format would make

typo in R-exts.html section 6.9
In 'Writing R Extensions' section 6.9 there is the paragraph
There are interfaces (defined in header R_ext/Applic.h) for definite and
for indefinite integrals. ?Indefinite? means that at least one of the
integration boundaries is not finite.
An indefinite integral usually means an antiderivative, not an integral
over an infinite spread. Should that first sentence end with 'for

Low bitrate: when?
Hi all,
Please could you tell me when is planned a version of Ogg Vorbis with
low bitrate encoding?
I'm waiting for this feature because I want to put my music on the web.
But the song is very long, about 30 mn (yes, this is progressive music).
So I fear nobody will listen to it except if the bitrate is cut down.
Thanks!

Sieve problem. Timo, is this mbox file size limitation hard coded? If so, why?
I would not have expected this upon implementing sieve. And I really need
to get around this limitation. LDA has no problem writing to these large
mbox files. Why does sieve have a problem with them? This is very odd.

When are search indexes updated?
I noticed that occasionally searching in my huge archive mailbox can be
really slow, so I tried doveadm index on it and it seemed to do a lot of
work, which seemed strange given, for example, that dovecot-lda says it
keeps Dovecot index files up-to-date. Then I thought, "maybe these are
different files than the search indices." If so, that's not entirely
clear from the docs and

Drag & Scroll
When using drag and drop, the browser window will not scroll if you move the mouse off the page. This makes it very difficult, if not impossible to create certain types of web applications.
I know this has been mentioned before and is on the Wish List, but it''s very frustrating.
If you look at this other Javascript library called "Drag''nDrop & DHTML Library"

swap_pager: indefinite wait buffer
My server just literally was brought to it's knees with this message
spewing on the console:
swap_pager: indefinite wait buffer: bufobj: 0, blkno: 1203133, size: 4096
(blkno and size were varying)
Some searching says that this is or was a bug. Has this been fixed
yet? If so, what should I upgrade to? I'm currently running 6.3

Newbie issues...I''m prototying an Apache/Mongrel configuration setup

* Linux system (CentOS)
* The plan is to create two virtual hosts.

XFS vs EXT4 for mail storage
Hello,
I'm in the process of finalizing the spec for my new dovecot VM, and
this is the last question I need to address...
I've read until I'm just about decided on XFS, but I have no experience
with it (been using reiserfs on my old box (@ 8 yrs old now), and never
had a problem (knock on wood), but considering its current situation
(little to no development support for reasons

How to get out the t-test value matrix for a linear regression ?
Hi, all
I've written some R script to calculate the linear regression of a matrix.
Here below is my script:
>x<-matrix(scan("h:/data/xxx.dat",0),nrow=46,ncol=561,byrow=TRUE)
>year <- NULL
>year <- cbind(year,as.matrix(x[,1]))
>lm.sol<-lm(x~year)
>xtrend<-coef(lm.sol)[2,] # get the matrix of regression coefficient
>t.test<- ?
